SOURCE: 1999 Mercury Sable Dome Light won't shut off

Next to the headlight switch is a dimmer dial for the interior dash lights... if you turn it all the way up, the interior lights remain on... there is a "detent" on the dimmer. turn the interior dash lights all the way full on ...you'll feel the detent, then turn it down back past the detent a little bit...that should cancel the interior courtesy lights... wait a bit because the interior lights are sometimes on delay timers....
good luck let me know what happens.

SOURCE: door ajar dash trouble and dome light stays on even if all doors

The door sensors will need to be replaced. A screws can be removed and then a wire can be taken of and you then can replace the switch.

Check the dash light dimmer switch. Perhaps it's set to have the interior lights on, when you turn the dash lights all the way bright, turning it a little more turns the interior lights on. Let us know how you make out.

SOURCE: Ford taurus door ajar light stays on

I had the same problem. WD40 cured this in a flash! Be generous with the WD40 to allow parts to loosen and clean the "gue" that has built-up over the years. Several open and closings of the door should do the trick. Note that cold weather exasperates this condition. The best to you all in the new year!

2001 Mazda Tribute ES broke down and I got a jump. Now my OBDII port, dome lights, cruise control, and radio have quit working!

You probably need a good auto-electrician, but pull out your multimeter and check all the fuses without removing them. On top of each fuse you will see two contacts. Use the probes on those with the meter set to ohms and check for continuity. I wonder if the Body Control Module is faulty though, in which case sell it at auction all clean, polished and detailed.

Fuse 26 is the door locks. 27 is Audio and Interior Lamps

My 08 Mazda Tributes dome light does not turn on when the door is open with it set to door

The switch in the door frame may be faulty, see if you can press it in and out, it looks like a small button near the door hinges, spray it with wd 40 to get it working again!

Dome light does not come on when door is opened

fuse blown comes to mind 1st but the door plunger in the door jam may only be sticking. look towards the drivers door while setting in the seat, do you see a plunger type button that when pushed by hand, does it go in and out with help? or does it stick? also check interior light and accessories fuse.

sounds like you door light switch is either broken or out of adjustment. unfortunatly it could be on any of the doors, including the back hatch.

Flat battery

Sounds like the timing unit which automatically turns off your dome lights after a few minutes is working backwards. Probably need a new unit.
