Question about 1999 Buick LeSabre

Open Question

The center armrest console lid in my LeSabre will not open and I can't tell from looking at it how the top latches to the bottom. Can you tell me how the latch works so I can try to work it open without breaking it?

SOURCE: drivers door latch will not open on 2000 Buick Park Ave

I think I can help you with this problem I need to know if the power lock on the drivers door makes a sound when you try to lock it with the switch. The are notorious for going out. It is most probably the actuator inside the door and will require removal of the inner panel. These are held into place with several screws and plastic clips. I hope this will get you started in the right direction, it's been a while since I have to change one of these but I beleive new the actuator is around 70.00 or you can purchase on from a wrecking yard online at car-parts.com, this is a great sight for a good price on used parts. Good luck and I hope I have helped.

How di I replace the armrest in a 2005 Mercedes c230 sedan

I am assuming you are talking about the front center armrest here. You have to start by removing the back cover of the center console along with the vent louvres if equipped. I think this will expose two screws that you need to remove and the armrest will pull out. If you are trying to remove the armrest because the latching mechanism has gotten out of sync, you can fix that in the car. If that's the case let me know and I'll try to walk you through the repair process.

How to remove the center armrest console froma ford escape 2002 model

there are about 8 torx screws (very small) near the hinge of the lid. remove those and the lid will come to remove the entire console, there are bolts on the back of theconsole accesible from back seat, and on the side of the console. easiest way to acces those bolts would be to remove the front two seats. they are held in by two bolts in front and two nuts under plastic covers in the back. raise the emergency brake lever and the console will slide up and be removed.

Remove center armrest from 2003 GMC

These are usually a combination of Velcro, screws and snap latches. The screws have concealment caps that can be removed with a small screwdriver. The other place is under the rubber liner mats for the "catch all" area and in the bottom of the storage compartment itself. If you have any lighters, ashtrays or power points you will have to remove those first as well. Small screws usually hold those in.

How to replace armrest latch

If you are talking about the center armrest between the two front seats, the repair is easy. The plastic latch can be ordered for about $10 and replaced by taking apart the top lid assembly. I did it and it is not hard at all. Now if you are talking about the armrest compartment, that is one the I have not had any luck figuring out and have not found a solution to from anyone else.
If anyone knows how to reattach the armrest please let me know. My e-mail is pvd3@yahoo.com. Thanks, Pete

Looks can be decieving ... more than likely it is due to the shift linkage and the underside of the center console. remember it is all molded plastic so they can have the top look identical and the bottom (or underside) could be completely different.
