My 1993 Ford F-150 XL 4.9 doesn't want to start when its hot. When I get in it in the morning, it starts fine every time. At lunch, if the weather is too hot with the sun pounding on it, it won't start. It never did it in the winter months. Now that its hot it does it almost every day. Although, when I park in the parking garage at work it starts fine. When it doesn't start, sometimes I hear a buzzing sound coming from the power distribution box, when the buzzing stops my truck starts. Sometimes it buzzes, sometimes not. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds to start, sometimes 30 minutes. I opened it up and felt the fuses and relays and it feels like the fuel pump relay is the one making the buzzing sound, even after replacing it. I have also replaced the plugs and wires, coil, distributor cap, rotor, and the ignition module
I live in jacksonville fl. and my truck(93 f150)was doin the same thing. i changed all my grounds to the motor firewall etc. and the problem has stoped. my truck would sound like its battery was dead, and i realized the started would be really hot so i would pour about a gallon of water and it would start rite up. changing the ground wires seem to do the trick for me.i hope this helps , good luck!
