Question about 1993 Toyota 4Runner

1 Answer

We just replaced the head gaskets on my 1993 toyota 4runner 6cyl 4wd. Every went fairly well. Now after all that work, the car wont turn over. It sounds like it wants to start. Battery is charged. Went through all the grounds to make sure they where all connected. Everything looks connected. Followed the vacumme hoses also. They are fine. Found a ground by the igniter that has gone bad it looks like. Would that make the car not work? Or would the igniter be the fault? The car in general is not getting any spark. Checked the coil, checked the distributor, etc...any advise would be great!

1997 Toyota Truck 4 Runner 4WD 3.4L EFI DOHC 6cyl, blown head gasket?

Could be a blown head gasket. You might also need to "burp" the system. When the vehicle is completely cooled down, try taking the radiator cap off, topping off fluid, and start the engine. That should help get air out. If it starts bubbling and shooting coolant out, something is wrong. You could also try running without the thermostat or just go ahead and replace it. They aren't usually expensive.

I have a 94 toyota 4runner that needs an engine. theres someone selling a 98 4runner engine, will it fit in my 94 toyota 4runner?

it depends, is it a 4cyl or 6cyl truck? If its a 4cyl, its a 22RE engine, any engine from 84 till I think 99 or 2000 will fit, the big thing is the wiring, if you just need the block and head, it should work. bolt everything else up and slap it in. should take about 4 or 5 hours depending on how much you know about engines. If its a 6cyl...your on your own.
