There can be so many reasons for the engine failing to start.
But other than the Ignition switch for which a voltage check can be made, you must check for voltage to the coils, the fuel pressure, the timing and tuning of the engine.

I have a 2007 odessey and i seperated the key from the key pad now van will turn over but wont start,i put keypad back on key but still wont start turns over but wont start any suggestions?

If you damaged a chip in the key, it won't start. You will have to get a replacement. You'll need the VIN# and go to the dealer to have one cut. Wouldn't hurt to take your key with you.

99 kia sephia wont start

This sounds like an ignition switch issue. It is located on the opposite side of the ignition lock cylinder (the part you put the key into) and can be purchased for about $20-30. If you are handy with a volt/ohm meter, I can give you directions on how to test the 'start' wire to see if it is getting power before you buy a replacement switch.

Wont start ...states with key in...programming...sometimes starts

replace the battery in the key and see if that helps, the key sends a signal/code to your ignition which starts the car. if battery is going dead it wont work.
