I believe it is using the same fuse as the others. Recommend checking the bulb. Fuse info below.

Are the main stop lights and the 3rd deck stop light on the same fuse?

Usually not. Most vehicles I've worked on have had the brake lights and 3rd operate on 2 different systems, likely as a safety measure.

Sounds like the new system you installed is piggy backed off of the main brake circuit and popped the fuse.

1998 chrysler town &country brake lights dont work but the 3rd one does

do your dash lights go out too? .. corroded wires (you can do an insulation breakdown test), or its grounding out in the console, but that would most likely blow the fuse. check to make sure u r looking at the right fuse too, wires can be connected to other random components, for example you may find your horn doesnt work either. and being as you have 3 brake lights, it may be possible they are on 2 diff fuses

hope this helps some!

I recently replaced the front rotors, brake pads and master cylinder in my 2003 Durango. I've since discovered that the brake lights are not working, including the 3rd brake light in the tailgate. I...

Hello, Well there is not much more it could be unless you have a shorted wire or a burned fuse. I would normally think that the turn signal canceler was bad but the 3rd brake light will still work if that is bad so I would check all fuses and for bare or shorted wires.

Brake lights not working, fuse is fine bulbs are good all else operates fine, signals, back-up lights, etc all good. 2007 Kia Rio 5 hatchback

Check the brake switch above and behind the brake pedal. It may have slipped out of position or could be faulty. It can be tested with a meter.

2003 Toyota Tundra Limited Stepside truck. No brake light. But the 3rd brake light works. Already checked the 15 amp fuse by the steering column

Hello.

We would suggest that you look at the wiring connector under the bed, that feeds the taillamps.

You will probably find a coroded wire in the connector. If the 3rd brake lamp works, all of the fuses and switches are good.

1997 monte carlo. 3rd brake light works, but tail lamp brake lights do not.

The 3rd brake light working does reveal that the fuse is good, and the brake switch is good. Check the bulbs, sockets, and the wiring between the brake lights

Rear Brake Lights not working, 3rd light is working

check the fuse for the stoplights. Even though the 3rd one is working it should be on a different fuse. With both of them not working even after you changed the bulb it would seem to lead to a fuse.

Third brake light out

Couple of things....#1..the 3rd brake light is on a different wiring circuit then the lower brake lamps. #2...The 3rd lamp shares the same fuse as the trailer hitch wiring. So if you ever pull a trailer, it's easy to blow the fuse. #3...the dash was changed in 2003...in 2002 the fuse is in the underhood fuse block....2003 it is in the left side dashboard fuse block. #4...If all else fails...rebuilt lamps are available.
