Did you connect the fan directly to the battery? If they don't run when connected to the battery, replace the fans.

On this vehicle there are 3 cooling fan relays and three fuses for the cooling fans. There are 2 in the under hood fuse panel and 1 in the instrument panel. You need to check the fuses and make sure they are all good. They get there input via the coolant temp sensor for the computer which in turn signals the cooling fan relays to turn on the fans. The other thing with the a/c clutch coming on and off.If the a/c system is low on freon this will cause the clutch to cycle more.If you can get a scan tool you need to monitor the coolant temp sensor to see if it is reading the same as the temp on the temp gauge. The other thing you an do is check for codes.Hope this helps and let me know what you come up with.

Why doesn't the new cooling fan motor work?

Did you check voltage and ground at the fan connector? Check applicable fuses. Can you check applicable trouble codes? Will the fan turn on, if you turn on the ac?

Some fans may not turn on, till the temp reaches around 220 degrees F, that excludes the ac.

There several issues that could cause the fan not run, another issue could be the coolant temp sensor. Does your temp gage work ok?

Cooling fan motor does not engage while idling

If the fan runs when the ac is on, you can assume the fan motor and relay are ok. The temp sensor signals the computer when the engine reaches 220 degrees and the computer grounds the fan relay to power the fan.
You would need to check the operation of the temp sensor and verify the engine temp, usually with a scanner.

Cooling fan temp light stays on when air condition is on. fans are not kicking on. Is it the fan module ?

I didn't know it had a light on the dash that said "cooling fan temp".
My 93 doesn't.
The cooling fans are controlled by the computer and turned on when the ac is running or when the engine reaches 220 degrees.
A mechanic would check the fuse and relay for power and the fan motor for power and ground.

2004 Pontiac Grand AM Cooling motors wont work.

Can you jumper the relay to make the fans run ? The computer sends a ground to the relay to power the fans when the coolant temp reaches 220 degrees or when the ac pressure reaches 200 psi on the high side.

Problem for ford 2005 mustang, cooling fan only works when ac is on

The engine cooling fan only comes on after the engine reaches 225-235 Degrees F, that is well past the middle of the gauage, so u may not see it come on very often, unless the engine is overheating there is nothing to worry about here

My cooling fan doesn't come on when I start my car

the engines electric cooling fan is not designed to come on when u start the car, it only runs when the engine temp reaches about 225 degrees F, this only occurs after long idle times or very hot weather..

Fan only works when a/c is on

Which fan the engine cooling fan? if that is what you mean remember the fan only comes on when engine reaches 235 degrees F. (that is almost in the overheat area of the temp gauge) which means it hardly ever runs under normal driving conditions.

Cooling fan not working

The fans only run when the engine reaches approxminatly 235 degrees F. on the guage that is near the end of scale just before guage show "HOT" I don't think you have a problem, allot of folks out there don't know about this.
