Question about Peugeot 405

I had peugeot 405 sti 1998 cc or 1.998 litre. The coil out for cylinder no 1 and 4 are not work properpely but other cylinder no 2 and 3 are ok. Could I have the solving problem.

    Actually my problem :
    My peugeot 405 sti 1905cc. Year 1994 was the engine idle not good since the warning lamp with indication engine and "K" ligth on. And I see the type of ECU is MP 3.1. Due this type my question is what sensor received by ECU and give the warning lamp on? How to check to know the sensor good or bad? And finally is the ECU must be resetting and how?.

    the ecu doesnt control the spark on this vehicle ,not a 94 it has a crank sensor and an ignition module ,in fact the ignition module is on the side of the distributor and the pick up sensor is inside the distributor ,the only light for an engine fault is controlled by the vacumn pipe running to the distributor as far as i remember ,now this would be a europeon market model

    Woooouuuw...excellent..for your very fast iam in indonesian and you?

    I hopely can find a vacuum hose at / distributor. As far as I lay down on top of cyl head of my lovely car, I only saw the ht coil attached on the distributot screwed sparately. I taken out the ht coil where spark plug lead connected to this ht coil. There are 2 part ht, each for sprkplug no 1, 4 and the other for no 2, 3.
    Pls tell me where is the hose vacuum connect to distributor? I saw some small vacuum systm like the conventional systm which is still use platina and condensor when the engine speed higher this vacuum will ******/advance the tdc of cutout thus even to get the best ignite in cylinder/chamber

    Sorry if I am not wrong you mean the warning light is on by this vacuum...and what relation with the main problem efect to idle and no good of engine as in a normal condition even when I switch on air cond the rpm idle dramactically dowm and the engine run stop. I wrote this sitted on top off head lamp doing some thing to follow you.

    sorry time zone difference --spain-- plus work load ,now your engine is different to a europeon build or a later model than i last worked on now the lad that works with me was a peugeot fitter in the UK so i will ask him but i seem to think that this version and remember that they change builds by the year could have two crank sensors one works 1/4 and the other 2/3 ,,no distributor the problem is i work on so many vehicles i forget the finer points so to speak ,your vehicle is not listed in my alldata book ,but i done a fiat not so long ago with the two coils like yours and it had two sensors one for each coil ,anyway i will ask **** for you tomorrow providing i remember as old age shows no mercy

    right asked the famous **** and he said only one crank sensor and the ECU controls the coils so perhaps you were right ,anyway iam covered in dirty oil and muck so iam into shower then watch NCIS on tv

The 405 was available as a 4-door only. Four-cylinder petrol engines included 65, 92, 110, 125, and 160 hp (48, 69, 82, 93, and 119 kW) units. A 1.8-litre diesel engine, with or without a turbo (70 and 90 hp (52 and 67 kW)) was added to the range during 1988 as was the 5-door estate.
the 405 ended in USA in 1991.
The 405 range included three petrol engines and two diesel engines, all four-cylinder with no 6-cylinder option, in a variety of states of tune and specification. The range was tailored to suit different export markets. The 1.6-litre saloon featured a low drag co-efficient of Cd=0.29, with other models varying up to Cd=0.33. The 1.4-litre (1,360 cc) engine was fitted with a four-speed manual gearbox. It produced 70 hp (52 kW) at 5600 rpm. The 1.6-litre (1,580 cc) engine was fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox and produced 92 hp (69 kW) at 6000 rpm. The 1.9-litre (1,905 cc) engine was available with a five speed manual gearbox, with an option of an automatic in the lower powered version.

How to change the spark plugs on peugeot 406 v6 3l coupe is this straight forward like a 4 cylinder car

1. Spark plugs removal

1.1. Front cylinder bank spark plugs removal:
1.1.1. Disconnect the battery from car terminals.
1.1.2. Remove the engine plastic cover.
1.1.3. Disconnect the ignition coils electrical supply cable and all three coils connectors.
1.1.4. Remove all three ignition coils screws.
1.1.5. Remove all three ignition coils out from cylinder head.
1.1.6. Remove all three spark plugs out from cylinder head (straight forward).

1.2. Back cylinder head bank spark plugs removal:
1.2.1. Remove the inlet manifold out from cylinder head.
1.2.2. Disconnect all three ignition coils connectors.
1.2.3. Remove all three ignition coils screws.
1.2.4. Remove all three ignition coils out from cylinder head.
1.2.5. Remove all three spark plugs out from cylinder head (straight forward).

2. Spark plugs installation

2.1. Refit all in reverse order.
2.2. Spark plugs tightening torque = 2,8 +/- 0,3 daN.m
2.3. Ignition coils tightening torque = 0,8 +/- 0,2 daN.m

Any body know ECU in peugeot 405 sti 1994 1905cc. The lamp indicator engine was light up/on. An the idle was no good, can any help find this problem, thank you

How to increase idle speed on peugeot 405 sti

carb? mono point injection or multi point injection.check for a thin rubber air hose that runs to ign module is it intact or sucking in air caused by being perished also the thin pipe running to the air intake cold /hot ,flap control .if carb then it has a adjusting screw ,and mono point but multipoint is different.91 model also uses a distributor which could be advanced a slightly ,check the same sort of air pipe to the gearbox as iam sure this year has a pipe to operate the gearchange.any of these pipes sucking air can cause your problem

I understand these cars have a sealed clutch system. When they fail you replace the whole kit master,hydrolic pipe and slave (comes in one piece). Search on ebay maybe £45 or so.
