Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD

2 Answers

Hello, 2001 Dodge ram 5.2 2 wd automatic very hard starting after sitting a day or 2. Crank and crank and then it kinda fires then stumbles and finally starts. Runs rough till it warms up then runs fine. I can hear the fuel pump come on before I try to start it and it turns off after a few seconds. I had somebody turn the key on while I listened with the gas cap off and it is working. It seems to be worse after a rain but that is just a guess. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The dealer said if it is the fuel pump they want $700

Dodge ram 1500 year 2004 i changed spark plugs and now it won't crank

Won't crank or won't start? If all you did was change the plugs, chances are the plug wires got crossed up. You didn't state the size of your engine. On the 5.2 and 5.9 engine the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. If this is not your engine size. Just google the firing order for your engine size.

What is crank sensor

Crank Position Sensor Is A Magnetic Sensor That Tells The ELectronic Control Unit (ECU) Which Position The Crank Shaft Is In. That Is Rotating And Top Dead Centre On Every Revolution.
If Your Car Is Telling You About This Sensor Ocassionally Then It May Need Adjusting And /Or Cleaning ,It May Also Just Have A Dirty Connection Where It Plugs In .The Engine Will Not Start At All If This Sensor Goes Faulty

2002 dodge 2500 diesel........cranks wont fire.......any suggestions?

Check to make sure your spark plugs are good. Next would be to make sure your alternator is working correctly. At the end of the day it could need a new starter if it isn't a relay or something simple.
