I am assuming that it is the heater fan... ..
. the fan is loose and now is cocked to one side inside of the enclosure,,,if you take it apart and tighten the nut that holds the fan on the shaft,,, it may work again.... OR it may need a washer as it could be worn....
The nut could have come off the shaft and the screech you heard could be the fan coming loose.
Usually the fan enclosure is located under the hood on the firewall which is the little wall between the engine and the interior of the car.
Usually it is not too complicated to get to, not sure about the caravan though...

The fan motor could have gone out. Or some debris has fallen down from the outside air vents into the fan. The vents are usually located at the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side, (around the location of the windshield wipers).

My 1996 doge grand caravan in blowing cooling fan fuse why

The cooling fan fuse may be blowing because the fan motor has gone bad. Check with the fuse out, and motor off grab the fan and wiggle it, if it wiggles this is your problem, and solution is to replace fan or complete assembly. GOOD LUCK.

1997 dodage grand caravan sport, when shifting from park to drive it makes a ticking noise, do you know what this could be? the car shifts fine and runs fine 126,000 miles.

The electronic shift solenoids in those transmissions make a ticking noise when shifting, same as when you slow down and stop, you will hear it as well, if it's quiet and your window is down. My guess is what your hearing is normal but if worried, stop at any reputable mechanic shop, or dealer and they will confirm it, free of charge.

1997 Grand Caravan overheating.

I would be a bit leary of hard wiring the fan. That may cause some other problems, such as the motor not getting warm enough in the winter time. I would get another opinion on the price they are giving you. I can see needing to replace the relay, but what is wrong with the wiring, unless the wiring is burnt up, you should be able to just replace the relay.
