They might have forgotten to plug the selector lever indicator back in. if they had to remove the radio then in order to that you have to pull the shift wood and the upper control panel wood. make sure the selector lever indicator is plugged in by pulling up on the chrome bezel at the base of the shifter.

Failure to shift the gear stick in S class gear box and where is the fuses which controls the mode of gear shift?

The most likely cause of the gear shift not moving from park is a faulty brake light /pedal switch. You need to depress the brake to remove from Park and or select other combinations. With this switch failed you will not be able to do this. If your brake lights do work then there could be a second switch in the pedal. Many manufacturers use a separate switch for this.

Dirty fuel line or system cleaning solutions

If the car behaves after engaging gears and drives ok then I doubt if fuel is the problem. I would be looking at a faulty clutch m/cyl or a failing clutch plate

Popular Problems Checks
1. Car will not go into gear:
  • Gear selector cable has failed
  • Brake lock solenoid/brake light swtich has failed not allowing the gear selector to move out of "Park"

  • Transmission fluid is low

3. Car goes into gear but does not shift out of first:
  • Blown fuse to the PCM controller
  • Faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
  • Shorted second gear control solenoid
  • Faulty transmission controller (PCM)
