Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Alero
Or just turn the key on, leave it in the on postion for 10 mins, then light will change after 10 mins telling you that the system security pass has reset, once the light changes, turn the key back off, and then start the car...

Most likely you replaced the starter because it wouldn't crank over. If this is correct and the security light was flashing before replacing the starter, then most likely you have a problem with the pass-lock system. If your ignition cylinder is located in the dashboard, you will need to remove it and replace the passlock housing.
