I got a 2001 olds silhouette, 3.4, with p1374. Checked ecm and replaced cps on the side of the block. ran great for about 4 miles, then it started stumbling and then stalling.

DTC P1374
The 3X reference signal is produced by the ignition control (IC) module. The IC module calculates the 3X reference signal by dividing the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor 7X pulses by 2 when the engine is running and when the CKP synchronizing pulses are being received. The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the 3X reference signal to calculate the engine RPM and the crankshaft position at engine speeds above 1600±150 RPM. The PCM also uses these pulses to initiate injector pulses. The PCM compares the 3X reference pulses to the 24X CKP pulses and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor pulses. If the PCM receives an incorrect number of pulses on the 3X circuit, a DTC P1374 will set and the PCM will use the 24X CKP reference circuit for fuel and ignition control. The engine will continue to start and run using only the 24X CKP and the camshaft position sensor signals.

Diagnostic Aids
• DTC P1374 can be caused by secondary components leaking high voltage into the IC module.
• Inspect for the following conditions:
- Incorrect harness routing near secondary ignition components
- Ignition coil arcing to wiring harness or IC module--Inspect the ignition coils for the following conditions:
• Cracks
• Carbon tracking
• Other signs of damage
- Ignition coil arcing to wiring harness or IC module--Inspect the ignition coils for the following conditions:
- Secondary ignition wires arcing to wiring harness
I would sugest you take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop an have it diagnosed , but i can tell that's not your way , is it . We diagnose not replace part's .
Replace the IC module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 11
--
10
Replace the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 11
If it starts an runs it's not the crank sensor behind the crankshaft pulley .

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy, Quite frequently my charging light will come on and state that I only have 10 volts coming out and then all the sudden jump to 14 and work perfectly fine

How many mile are on you vehicle ? Have you ever had Alternator replaced before ? You alternator maybe starting to fail , brushes or the voltage regulator .
Charging System Indicators
BATTERY The IPC illuminates the battery indicator when the following occurs:
?€¢
The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage.

?€¢
The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.

?€¢
The ignition is on, with the engine off.
BATTERY NOT CHARGING The IPC illuminates the battery not charging indicator in the driver information center when the following occurs:
?€¢
The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage

It would be a good idea to have it checked out , most auto parts stores will do this for free !

Why does my car just quit running after driving it for awhile

You need to give us all the information you have. Such as model and year. If it's a new one, then you'll probably have to hook up some kind of fault reader to see if the diagnostics captured the failure. Many times you can go to Pep-boys or Midas, most of the places are doing this for free now. These are the most difficult to find and diagnose as when it's running everything is ok, but when it fails you are generally away from someplace that can much. Ahh the beauty of a computer in a vehicle.

Series II 4.0 litre V8 Land Rover Discovery runs but stalls out after a few miles. The vehicle restarts after cooling down it seems. This generally takes a couple of hours or a tow back home. Service

Sounds like the same issue I had with my 2002 Discovery 2 V8. Mine used to run for about 10 minutes, then die, usually in the most inconvenient locations! The Crank sensor is in need of replacement. It sits near the exhaust downpipe (behind a heat shield) but obviously this shield isn't enough as they die after about 80,000-100,000 miles. Just get it replaced and I think your issues will solved.

Engine stalls on highway starts after 15 min

Sounds like the same problem I have been having with my 2002 Sedona for
the past 6 or 8 months. It would run OK for several days, weeks, or months,
then just quit. If I let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, it would restart and run fine
for at least the rest of that day. About 2 weeks ago, I was fortunate that it happened when someone was with me, so I was able to determine that it
was not getting any spark. Since then the problem has gotten worse and
more frequent - it was happening almost every day and would take over
1/2 an hour before it would start again. This morning was the last straw.
I drove for about 4 miles and it quit. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes before it
would restart. Drove another 2 miles and did it again. This time it took
1 hour 35 minutes before restart. After 1 more mile, it quit again. Took 2
hours, this time. Made it another mile and BAM! - did it again.
My bro towed me home. I determined that it is most likely NOT the crankshaft position sensor, because 99% of the time they either work,
or they don't. Very rarely does it cause in intermittant problem. The most
likely suspect is the engine computer. That was always a likely culpret
when I worked on GM cars. Today I installed a $50 junk yard engine control computer. I am crossing my fingers!
I will know on Thursday, as I have a 50 mile trip to make.
I will post again on Thursday, to let you all know.

Wont keep idle, car stalls out

I had this same problem on my 2005 monte carlo, took mechanic a while to figure out it was the idle air control valve. They also replace the idle air control motor.

1994 dodge shadow when warm spedometer quits battery loses voltag

I would start with the altenator. The repair is very easy.

Rick after you replace the altenator and the system does not get any better. The system has a draw or short . The vehicle has a body control module . This could be the cause or the power distribution box in the engine were all the relays are is starting to go out. I would take the vehicle in to you local mechanic to check it out if the altenator replacement does not work.
