Throaty engines sound

Our Toyota Yaris verso (2001) appearedto be really low on oil so we filled it up and it now sounds very throaty.

yor car has blown the intercooler hose off; its underneath the main radiatior take off the lower bumper liner. on the rh side looking from underside you will then find the hose clip has rusted through due to a sponge seal holding water. bin the sponge change the clip with a stainless one

if your concerned about the noise then have the exhaust checked for leaks other wise I wouldn`t worry.

hey chris, no two cars sound the same, that sound you hear may just be normal for the car, after a few weeks of driving you may not hear it at all, congrats on your purchase, with care and luck you should get 2 to 3 hundred ks of driving, good luck to ya

Look or listen for a vacuum leak. Brittle hoses or ones that just break off.
