Need your opinion on 1990 3.1 v6 chevrolet beretta

I barely touch gas pedal and rpm revves way up But I have to keep tapping the gas pedal or it dies. After a few taps it final stops reviing up but as soon as I take it out of park it dies. A neighbor told me it was the Throttle Postion sensor but Im not sure and hate to keep buying wrong parts. I have replaced wires, and plugs so far. and money is very tight.

Transmission ,spark plug, fuel injector, could cause this.. first check your transmission fluid and if that doesnt help check the order of your spark plug wires to make sure they are not crossed leading to a missfire and if thats not it check the spark plugs, for corrosion correct gapping ect. have you tried using fuel injector cleaner?

Hi Nadhem, I believe you have an electrical short circuit somewhere along the lines. Check them out and look for anything touching the body where the insulation has rubbed through. Regards John

My guess would be the crankshaft position sensor. You need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes to find out what's going on.You can start replacing parts, but it could get expensive before you hit the right one.

You probably have a faulty sensor at the transmission.

Go to your local parts store, and they can give you the part and how to install it. It's pretty easy.
