Question about 1992 Dodge Spirit

Thumping, and steering wheel dipping hard right

I have a thumping sound on the passenger side, seems to be coming from the front wheel on that side, and it causes the steering wheel to dip HARD to the right at low speeds. once you reach 30 or so mph, it smooths out. had the ball joint on that side replaced 5 months ago due to failure. any idea on the cause?

Passenger Front Tire wobbles

Bad bearings, or another worn suspension part. I'd have it checked by an alignment specialist.

There is a rubbing sound coming from the drivers side tire, and when the gas is pushed hard, a loud thump comes from the drivers side. The explorer is all-wheel drive. Underneath, the entire driver's side...

The thump is from the worn ball joints. You will need to determine the type of fluid by getting some on your finger and smelling it to determine what it is. It could be power steering fluid (reddish brown) could be gear oil (greenish), brake fluid (clear) or oil (brownish black). Check your oil, power steering fluid and brake fluid reservoir to see if any of those are low. Check your transmission fluid with the Explorer running, wipe the stick and recheck. Then check the gear box by removing plug and sticking your pinky in to see if you can feel the fluid which should be up level with the plug. Rubbing sound can be a bad tire, sway link that's broken, bad joint on the front axle, or even a failing wheel bearing. Whoever does your motor vehicle inspections (state inspectors) may be the best kind of mechanic for you to consult with regarding suspension issues such as ball joints and bearings. They use a jack and prybar to determine what can move in a way it should NOT be able to move and a state inspection in my state only costs about $12 and that's about the cheapest you can get a diagnosis for anything wrong with a car.

Your right, its not safe to drive in this condition, sounds like tire is strarting to seperate, but for the life of me, couldn't tell you why when only hot. Take it to a tire shop and see what they say.

Thumping in front end, host of other issues

The thumping sound like the U-joints in the front wheels are bad. If the brakes lock with ABS sytem, then one or more wheel sensors are probably bad. As for the RPM's, one of the intake air sensors may be bad, either the IAT or MASS sensor. Hope this helps
