Vaccuum leak, had it smoked and all they told me was tha smoke was rolling of the top of the tank. Any ideas?

no car told or year and no engine told.
smoke is not a good sign, unless Tonto on hill top and signaling.
smoke can be steam.
smoke dissipates slowly and smells like smoke
while steam dissipates way faster and smells nasty like sweet antifreeze. easy to tell just sniff it a bit.
see coolant on the driveway? oops, that is bigger clue.
if you see leaks at head gasket block juncture,that be bad.
a head job. $$$$$$$
it is no exhaust like as hat does not cause weak/dead throttle pedal.

When you're doing a smoke test, any smoke that shows reveals the problem area if you are doing the test properly. If the smoke is showing near the top of the gas tank, you have a leak in the tubing or the vent valve is not closing (if it's in that area - you didn't provide make, year, model).

most likely just water vapor from the heat of the cab interior cooling on the evaporator coils
just like you smoke from your breath on cold mornings

go & resolve the issues
You should have engine vacuum diagram
under the hood
A shop can smoke check for vacuum leaks
& save you time there

Black smoke is usually excess fuel.
The problem could be faulty fuel injectors or the fuel pressure regulator. Or a restriction in the air intake. Or a faulty O2 sensor.
If you remove the spark plugs you may find the cylinder or cylinders with too much fuel.
If that is the case, you would need to test the injectors and the fuel system.

Coolant Expansion Tank or Windshield Fluid Container

Wouldn't that be something your familiar with,
or you never check things under the hood?

This code indicates a large leak in the EVAP system ( Vaccuum Leak ) you will have to locate a broken vaccuum line or check EVAP canister for a leak or crack. You can also take it to a garage that has a smoke machine and what they do is hook the machine up to your EVAP system it blows white smoke in and it will come out at the point where it is broken or leaking.It might be worth the money to have this done because it can be a nightmare to find a vaccuum leak and this way it only takes about 10 seconds and they usually don't charge much for this test.

One potential cause is too much gas. It may be running "rich". Your car may also be burning a little oil. White smoke is water or antifreeze. If you are loosing coolant from the radiator, it's probably a blown head gasket. If not, it is just condensation in the exhaust pipe that is evaporating as the pipes heat up. If the car is running too rich, the unburned gas will cause black smoke and burning oil smoke will be blue.

In order to find that requires what is called a smoke machine. The evap is a very low pressure system, and a leak is almost impossible to detect. The smoke machine puts a low pressure stream of smoke into the system through a port in the engine compartment and then you follow the lines back to the tank, generally with a light to see the smoke coming out.
