Have a 1965 Dodge Coronet with 225 carb now I switched to a electrical fuel pump but also have the old stock fuel pump hooked up now was can cause my car to run alil funky like it dies or Boggs out after...

Check the fuel level in the carb bowl. You will have to take off the top of the carb, the air horn, to check the level. Also check that the needle valve and seat (which lets gas into the carb) is not clogged or stuck.

You did use a low volume fuel pump? If pump pressure is correct, I would bypass the mechanical pump.

Why engine not starting,it got an electric fuel pump ive put on to replace cam pump?

Have you done the obvious like checking fuel flow and testing spark plugs for a good spark ? The electric pump could be over fueling. If you have good spark try a little engine start down the carbi - watch out for blow back. Also check the petrol, it could be old.

What is the benifit of having an electrical fuel pump compare to a machanical pump, because I am ready to replace mine to a mechanical on my 1965 mustang

with an electric fuel pump you don't have to prime the system before start up, and you can control fuel pressure, if your car is stock the mechanical pump will do fine

1965 corvette fuel pump breather

It is a diaphram pump with a rubber diaphram. The rubber has more than likely dry rotted letting the gas go through it. When you take it off, there is a "lifter/pushrod?" that go's from the camshaft to the pump. And it will slide down, but there is a cover that holds it in. So it shouldnt fall all way out. When you install the pump pick the shaft up and make sure the fuel pump arm slides under it before putting it in place. Also make sure and lube the arm and lifter real good with duralube or another soft grease or at least lots of oil.
Start and run your car at least once a month and that will keep most of the parts from dryrotting as bad. Engines are made for running, not sitting.

I hope this helps.

My 1965 turbocharged John Deere 3020 started last week but I couldn't get it to throttle up past idle. I shut if off to investigate and now it won't start. Throttle linkage is fine. Fuel lift pump seems...

Try looking to see if the fuel-shutoff is working, open only one fitting instead of two injectors. Check the glow-plugs or intake heater if applicable. You can put an in-line electric fuel-pump in place. This can help you find out if there is a hidden fuel-leak, system loosing its prime, or bad lift-pump. If this still doesn't help then you may want to dig deeper and see if the shaft broke on the injection pump. Remember to mark the pump so you put it back exactly where it was. Rule of thumb is to set the timing to TDC on cylinder #1. Mark the gears with ink or white-out. and the injection pump case too. Let me know how its going.

Fuel pump locatio for a 1965 nustang V8, also the location of the fuel filter if any.

Integral Fuel Pump & Filter (Replaceable Element Type) Prior to 1966, the fuel pump was equipped with an integral fuel filter, featuring a replaceable element. It is recommended that this filter element be replaced every 36 months or 36,000 miles, or in the event that the filter becomes clogged. It is important to use the proper filter element for your fuel pump and to observe the instructions for positioning the element within the fuel pump unit. These instructions will be printed on the replacement element.

289 2 barrel with new fuel pump. gas will not stay in the fuel line after the car sits even for a few minutes. Has to be pumped back up into the filter and carb. by cranking at least 20 times.

Even if that was true, the car would run for 20 seconds without any fuel in the line, because the carb would have gas in the bowl. Why was the fuel pump replaced? How do you know theres no gas in the line? The check valve in the fuel pump should keep fuel from going backwards into the tank. The carb should hold gas, if not, find out why.

Fuel pump issues troublesome

Fuel pump may be in the top middle of the tank, the bulk of the work is removing the gas tank to get at it.
