94 S-10 Chev Brake problem

Brake pedal goes slowly all the way to the floor. I have already replaced master cylinder, check all wheel cylinders, bleed system twice, check vacum booster for leaks and found none.

    Pedal travels to floor on dodge caravan 1989 3.0 -have front brakes only- have changed master c. twice - checked for wheel cylinder/system leaks.- bled entire system etc.. NO change - Can bad power booster mimic bad master cylinder ??.....S.L.

    I have a 94 s10 when i push break peddle it goes tto floor frount breaks stop but nothing at back tryed bleeding systen fluid comes oiut great at back but still no pressure buld up to stop truck
    on abs system box when i try bleeding it no oil comes out of bleeders but oil going to back

    replaced master cylinder, wheel cylinders , and calipers. no leaks found at all. fluid went somewhere

This is an easy fix un plug the abs sensor from spindle abs light will come on but the brakes will work only abs will not

If your not loosing fluid anywhere have someone press the pedal for you and see if the actaul mounting bracket for the pedal is in good working order, if so then there is either air in the system or a leak somewhere.

    surely there is a leak in the booster. as i press the pedal, the air is just coming out. hard to tell where exactly.

Brake issue.... turn left till steering pulses and brakes go to floor, and master cylinder bubbles... what would cause that. I bleed all brakes and all good, then random turn or out of the blue no...

It sounds like you have a faulty Electro-Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) or a Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). Air is trapped in the valve body and air is much harder to get out of the master cylinder than it is the lines. You can try this method to help troubleshoot.

This is out of the Online GMsevice manual for a 2001 Blazer with 4-WD
Use the two-person bleed procedure under the following conditions:

Raise the vehicle in order to access the system bleed screws.
Bleed the system at the right rear wheel first.
Install a clear hose on the bleed screw.
Immerse the opposite end of the hose into a container partially filled with clean DOT 3 brake fluid.
Open the bleed screw 1/2 to one full turn.
Slowly depress the brake pedal. While the pedal is depressed to its full extent, tighten the bleed screw.
Release the brake pedal and wait 10-15 seconds for the master cylinder pistons to return to the home position.
Repeat the previous steps for the remaining wheels. The brake fluid which is present at each bleed screw should be clean and free of air.
This procedure may use more than a pint of fluid per wheel. Check the master cylinder fluid level every four to six strokes of the brake pedal in order to avoid running the system dry.
Press the brake pedal firmly and run the Scan Tool Automated Bleed Procedure . Release the brake pedal between each test.
Bleed all four wheels again using Steps 3-9. This will remove the remaining air from the brake system.
Evaluate the feel of the brake pedal before attempting to drive the vehicle.
Bleed the system as many times as necessary in order to obtain the appropriate feel of the pedal.

Brakes go to the floor to stop....already replaced master cylinder and dont know symptoms of a bad hydrobooster.....i also already bleed mc and all brakes

when you replaced the master cylinder , did you bench bleed it , in order to get all of the air out it, before installing it, and afterwards, it is recommendable to bleed all 4 wheels to get the air out also. "also some of the times , when a brake booster goe's bad the brake pedal can also become spongy.

Not likely that the booster is an issue. The booster would not be able to overcome the brake fluid compression.
First open and inspect all brakes for leaks, adjustment, etc. Check all brake lines.
So if no leaks, did the fluid go low in the MC? If so, pad consumption would eat more than a MC reservoir of fluid, and not require MC replacement, but rebleeding and top up of fluid. If the pads are worn, and you replace them, often this will expel air back through the MC.

If you determine the MC is faulty, bench bleed the new one before install, or you will have lots of problems getting air out....

Did the pedal go to the floor beforehand? Was the master cylinder leaking, and did you bleed it properly? If the master cylinder was not leaking, check your brake lines going to the rear wheels.

My 1997 chevy 1500 z71 brakes suddenly going all the way to the floor. Checked brake fluid and it was low. Could be wheel cylinder? Master cylinder? or ?

well, check the brake lines for leakage after adding brake fluid to the full mark. If the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, it's likely there is a leak somewhere after the master cylinder. If the pedal gets hard after adding fluid, and pumping it several times with the car off, then the master cylinder is still ok.

If air has gotten into the master cylinder, it may have to be bled out on a bench, or using a scanner if that's the way your vehicle is.

Bleeding the Brake System (ABS) Auto Bleed Procedure NOTE: Perform a manual bleeding procedure. If the brake pedal height and firmness results are not achieved, perform the auto bleed procedure below.
NOTE: Perform this procedure when replacing the brake pressure modulator valve or electro-hydraulic control unit.
  1. Perform the manual brake bleeding procedure. Refer to Bleeding the Brake System (non-ABS).
  2. Check the master cylinder fluid level often to prevent running the system dry.
  3. Press the brake pedal firmly and run the Scan Tool Automated Bleed Procedure (for Gas engines) once, or the Function Test (for Diesel engines) four times. Make sure to release the brake pedal between each test.
  4. Perform the manual bleed procedure again. This should remove the remaining air from the brake system.
  5. Bleed the system as many times as needed to obtain the appropriate feel of the brake pedal.

1996 Grand Am, no leaks in brake lines, replaced master cylinder, did not bench bleed, but have bled them over and over through the lines, pedal goes all the way to the floor, nothing, please help

Not bench bleeding is a big mistake. You have to bench bleed. I know you dont want to hear this but your gonna have to take that master cylinder back off and bench bleed it. I hope you dont have a.b.s. cause if you do you just pumped it full of air. If that is the case you are going to have to pressure bleed it at a repair shop. after you bench bleed use this process to bleed your brakes start with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder have someone pump the brake pedal slowly about seven times then hold it to the floor. then you open the brake bleeder and air and fluid will come out. then close the bleeder make sure your assistant holds the pedal down to the floor the whole time until the bleeder is closed then have them pump the pedal again another seven times and hold it to the floor open the bleeder then close it again. keep doing this process until you see a clear stream of brake fluid coming out without it spitting air you will be able to tell the difference when the air is gone. then proceed to the next wheel farthest away from the master cylinder. make sure you keep the master cylinder full of fluid while you are bleeding dont let it go dry.

It's very possible to be the master cylinder, the o-rings on the piston could be worn, letting the fluid seep back through instead of getting full pressure through the lines. Could also be the brake booster.
Try changing the master cylinder first, which is cheaper and easier, and see if there is a difference, you'll need to bleed the brakes again.
To check the booster,
With the engine off, pump the brakes until the pedal is hard, then hold pressure on the brake pedal and listen for air escaping, or the pedal goes slowly to the floor, Do that after the master cylinder has been changed, at least that will be eliminated.

I have a 92 chrsy. 5th ave with no antilock brakes. just base brakes with rear drums. replaced master cly. due to leaking and replaced all the brake lines and hoses. i have good streams of fluid from all 4...

When you bleed the brakes are you starting with brake furthest from the master cylinder? Also was the master cylinder bench bled? If everything there is okay and you are not getting any air in fluid stream, you could try bleeding the brakes by having some one slowly pump the pedal till it is firm. Then have them let off open first bleeder valve and slowly depress to floor and hold there untol the valve is closed. repeat this at all bleeders. You may want to have car running to do this. Try this and let me know.
