If you have had a tune up done recently you may want to check your throttle body, build up can form up in the throttle body and make it harder for the sensors to get accurate readings. Air Idler Controller, throttle position sensor are normally connected to the throttle body. You can try spraying some throttle body cleaner to remove the build up in the throttle body. The crankshaft sensor is normally located on the side of the motor by the number one cylinder and it can also cause the syptoms you describe.
Might have to get your car cchecked for a proper timing and tuning full point check up.
make sure that the sparks are good with intensity, and the fuel is clean ith good balanced pressure.
The spit and spluttering is false firing or insuffficient fuel and so both of these must be checked.
