Question about 1997 Honda Civic
For the last week my 97 Civic has been acting weird, when ever am stop with the car running my car starts to bump and shake. It's like its has the hiccups and it gets worst the longer am stopped. Once I start moving again I don't notice any problems. Any help would be great
If the car bumps and shudders when idling you probably need an oxygen sensor. The mechanism was apparently bad in the 97 dx as I've had about four or five installed free by the dealership under the extended manufacturer warranty which expires at 150,000 miles. I'm just purchased an O2 sensor, had a 'mechanic' install it and check engine light is still on so he probably got the wiring wrong. It's best to purchase the Honda certified part since it will more than likely be color coded the same way and more easily installed. I bought a Bosch as it was about half the price but it was universal and not an exact match to the Honda part.

It's same with our problem, solution is use radiator flush to clean radiator and the light engine will off.
