Over heating so i bought the car in 2007 in November the car was running great and smooth only problemed it would smell like gas everytime i filled up..that problem slowly went away. then i had a problem with my power steering it would be hard to turn and i kept losing power steering fluid. problem fixed. but now my car is going insane...i call my impala "nightmare" cuz thats what it is giving me.. so for about 2 months or so my car has been overheating.. it starts off driving and i notice the air is coming out cold i look at the temp. guage and it is redlined to the max!! and this problem happens everytime i drive i add coolant about every week or so, but when i drive my car and its redline about 5 minutes later it levels off and goes back to the middle or regular running temp. this problem i believe is causing me gas and it is also causing power lose... does anyone have any solutions or if you had the problem can tell me what to do?? thankyou it would be very much apperciated =)

That last time I saw a heating problem with it getting hot very quickly and then leveling off it was a bad thermostat. Also, if you have to add coolant every week, there is obviously a leak somewhere. Have you checked that car after a run to see if there are any drips anywhere?

No worries. Hopefully it is just a hose. Extremely common problem. I had to replace 3 hose last summer on my Lotus!

Used the wrong gas

Open the gas fill door, remove the gas cap and smell the gas fill tube area. If it has a kerosene like smell then you may have filled it with diesel fuel. If so select your favorite garage to drain the tank and flush the fuel system to remove the diesel.
This vehicle should run on any type of gasoline so I suspect the fluid you put in was not gasoline.

2007 Suzuki XL7 Runs great but has a Gas smell when parked, no Engine lights or codes just a gas smell , new gas cap too?

A mechanic would check the vapor canister to see if it is full of liquid gasoline. If it is, you would need to replace it and find out if the EVAP system is working correctly. It should only have fumes in it from the tank.

My 2003 accent won't start on cold weather. I pressed the gas pedal and smells gas, so it is not a gas problem. But when it start it runs smoothly. What seems to be the problem?

when was the last time you changed the plugs? if its been a little too long the plug gap will become too big of a gap and harder for the spark to jump but once the motor is running it will more compession and also the heat of the combustion chamber to help and will run smooth...checking the plugs will be a good start

95 escort smoke from vents vibration when accelerating why??

The smoke you could be seeing may be steam, your heater inside the vehicle may have a leak and causing steam to rise out of the vents, if you are smelling the steam this is what I suspect.
Engine vibration could be a number of things, check the engine mounts to start, one of them is probably broken.

Low coolant and oil smells like gas. No white/blue

let your car idle go back to the tail pipe if it seems to be steaming alot , and or smells like antifreeze then you have a head gasket problem or a gasket leak alowing in directly into your engine

2007 Town & Country smelling gas inside the van

if its that bad don't run it, sounds like bad leak, best to have someone chk. it out. has it been doing this ever sence you bought it? if it has, call the place you bought it at and have them send someone over to look at it., BUT BY NO MEANS DRIVE IT TO THEM. its a potential fire hazard. I know you will smell a hint of gas when you first fill it up, but will usely go's away in short amount of time. fires will start from the fumes and not the liquid. If its that bad you can smell it on your cloths, Its bad.If this is scaring you I'am sorry this just sounds like something that can't be icnored. GET IT CHK.

Have it scanned at any Autozone or similar store for free. get a code for the problem. it seems to be the idle adjustment valve or the the throttle position sensor.
