Hello. If your fan is blowing on all speeds, it is probably your thermostat in the water system that is at fault. (probably stuck open) You didnt say whether the car was a petrol or a diesel. Diesels tend to run cooler so it will not be doing your MPG any good either if the engine is not getting to the correct temperature. The thermostat is a cheap part and usually fairly easy to identify and replace. It will be in the haynes manual or try a search engine for how to replace it. Hope this helps.
poss the fuel filter has petrol in it,replace filter, turn engine over with fuel line unattached to clear lines then fire up,should be fine.you may hve a hot start problem for awhile but fill up with diesel at 1/2 tank to dilute any petrol left.in 32 years in the trade i have put petrol in so many diesel cars, and as long as it starts, keep it running, and start only when cold ish.
I have just managed to fix the blower in my 2004 Ford Focus. Only worked on number 4 which cuts out the AC. Garage quoted me £40 for part and £40 for labour. I brought a second hand resistor from these people (very helpful and only £10 plus VAT) http://www.breakeryard.com/view_supplier_feed...
. Arrived next day. To replace the old one you just remove the 3 screws under the glove box and pull the box out. In front of you will be a big barrel which is the fan. To the bottom right of this you will see the old resistor. This is held in by one screw. Remove this and pull out the fixed wires. Put in the new part, re attach the wires and put the screw back. Job done. Should take about 15mins. Hope this helps somebody somewhere
