If i'm not mistaken the light beside the battery sign is the check engine light. this lights up if anything under the hood is not functioning the way it should. Unfortunately i cannot be more specific on this. It just means that you could be staring at a major repair, or your gas cap could be too loose (no kidding).

Well as you've mention your oil is dropping at a very fast rate then its a good place to start checking. You can check if your oil seals are ok and might as well check all the filters...oil filters, fule filters air filters.

Hope i have answered your question. Goodluck!

Lancer has a cylander 2 misfire code reads. Sputter when accelerating. Exhaust noise change. Spark is fine.

try changing the spark plugs , this usually cause this problem if this doesn't work check the plug to see if it has oil on the end that goes into the engine if this happens then you need to rebuild the engine, good luck.

SPARK PLUGS FULL OF OIL

Do you notice a puddle under the car? Or smoking when you shut it off? The rocker cover gaskets are the culprit. If you have the spark plugs in a well inside the rocker cover, the will fill up with oil and also leak out the back. You can replace the gaskets, a fairly easy job, you have to pull everything off the top of the engine to get the covers off. And they give you the new seals for the spark plug well with the gasket kit. They only go about 10 years, I replaced mine and they are starting to leak again. Hope this helps.

I have a 1995 Lancer Glxi with auto. tranny. The car is running at 80 but feels like going at 40. Sometimes it won.t move when you brake is off specially when uphill, but when you re-start the engine, there...

OK a couple of things to check.
  1. Check your Transmission fluid level is correct with the dipstick which you should find at the back of the engine by the firewall/back of the engine area. The dipstick in front is for your engine oil level.
  2. Its possible that you also have a shifting problem inside the transmission in what is call the clutch pack and modulator areas.
  3. Your electric sensors which operate the shifting in the mentioned above areas may be causing the problem.
  4. You could have a vacum leak to the shift modulator on your transmission.
As you can see it is a very technical area to try and find exactly whats going on but if your fluid level is low then filling it the the correct level on the dipstick should resolve this problem. Good Luck....
Let me know how or what you find.
