Remove the plug from the coolent line, and gound them out as to close the switch, thus making the compressor think it has pressure to run, then you can add your coolent to proper lvl, the plug your wires back in.
OK, if the A/C system has been discharged of R134a for any length of time, the car may have to be reset by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after a few minutes.
That's the way my 1990 Cadillac Deville is, as it's a safety measure for preventing low freon level operation of the compressor which can damage the compressor.
My 1997 Cadillac Deville Limo hasn't had any leakage issues, so I don't know if this would work on that late of a Cadillac.
After adding r134a to the low side, and if the compressor doesn't work, then this could very well be your problem.
Yes, a spring compressor will allow you to compress the springs enough to remove the strut units. I recommend using the spring compressor that looks like a **** shell, not the ones that have the long bolt with the two clamps on each one. The **** shell type allows you better access to the spring bolts without interference.
check the compressor with the ac running and make sure the compressor is kicking in and out in not the compressor might be bad or te clutch on te front of te compressor, sometimes u can get to much freon in them to i did it ounce
Hi,check if the compressor clutch is engaging,if not check the conection at the compressor if ok check, fuse ,or relay ,if those are fine and the commpressor is engaging, check freon presure ,may be too high or low, if this is the case ,correct the problem and disconect the negative cable from the battery for a minute to reprogram the sistem..C1
