Headlamps on, both brake lamps are on;hit brake, left brake lamp brightens, right lamp remains dim;headlamps off, hit brake, only left lamp lights. What could be the problem?

Your right brake light is not the same bulb as your rear running light that comes on with the headlights. Different bulbs. Your right brake light is simply burnt out or has worked its way out of the connection. Take it to Advance Auto Parts. They may even change it for you. Not a big problem.

Need to change brake light bulbs on Peugeot 107 is this easy

If both are not working that is a sign that you have some other problem and not burned out filament's in the bulbs bulbs. Try turning on the four way flashers and then off again a few times do the rear lights flash? if so the bulbs are ok. If the brake light still don't work check the bulb socket with a DC volt meter while the rake lights are help on by a helper, if you have voltage then likely the bulbs are the problem. If you still think the bulbs are the problem the way to change them is outlined in the owners manual with diagram's which I do not have.

2 of 3 brake light bulbs dont light up when brake pressed only when lights are on do all 3 bulbs light up, only on the right side, left bulbs turn on, I changed fuses and bulbs no luck

Chek the light harness ground connection, for each "faulty" bulb. l suspect the brake lights are detecting the gound from the running lights, which is the only time they all function.
