1994 FORD TAURUS

Do you smell gasoline fuel ?? When there's too much fuel, it saturates the spark plugs, preventing ignition. Let it sit for an hour to let spark plugs dry, then it starts OK later. Next time, turn starter without giving any throttle or very small throttle as engine turns. Myself, when my 2006 Dodge Plymouth minivan (sitting in storage) needs to start, I squirt (half second) starting fluid into air filter, close the air filter housing to trap flammable gas from starting fluid, then turn the engine without pressing on throttle. When the engine starts is when I give it a little throttle to bring up the RPM to 2,000 until it idles on its own without stalling from cold engine.

2002 ford taurus won't start - brand new battery and complete tune up still won't start

Sounds like your not getting any fuel..Listen for the fuel pump,by removing gas cap and put your ear up to it..cycle the key without starting it and listen for the pump..sometimes you can beat on the bottom of the tank and it will jarr the pump and it will start running again..Not a fix but a conformation

2002 Taurus starts & then dies. After an hour, it is OK for weeks

put a volt meter on the battery when you get the problem to occur, I have run into intermittent problems and found that when cranking the battery voltage drops below 9 volts and when the voltage drops below 9 the pcm powertrain control module does not know what to do and will cause the problem you are talking about, if it drops below 9 volts check and clean power and ground connections and have you battery tested, your local autozone will test it for free, and most likely your battery is going bad. and auto zone installs batteries for free also.

2002 ford taurus won't start at first crank in the morning

remove the air filter housing from the throttle body, or if its mult-ported injection, remove the large air duct. Do this the night before. The next day, before cranking and having a spray can of carb. cleaner, spray a couple of shots of carb cleaner either into the large air duct, spray towards the engine, or if its single body injection, spray directly on to the throttle body.

Crank engine immediately, preferrably have some one else sitting in the car to start it after you spray.

If the car even tries to start, replace cold start relay.

try replacing the cars computer with a known good one. It seems the computer or "brainbox" is deprogramed for some reason.
