If you are changing it to 5 speed you will need the shifter and rods and linkages for the car the 5 speed came out of or you wont get 5th.5 speeds are great they all should have came with them

Guess that the 5th gear is over drive inwhich case your fuel consumption will reduce on highway driving. hope u hv nice high ways!
however, watch out for overspeeding tendency.

Check the fuel pressure at the injector rail. it looks like a air valve. You can usually borrow a tester from a auto parts store.

1993 VW Fox a/c blower does not work on 4 (high speed) It's not the switch for sure because I've by passed it and still no high speed.

This is not the resistor. There is a relay on the fuse board that makes the fan's full speed work, it must be replaced or refurbished. Any additional questions, please email me paulojosebaptista@hotmail.com Greetings from Brazil!

WHEN DRIVING AND THE TRANS NEEDS TO SHIFT ON MY 2005 VW JETTA 2.5-5 NEW STYLE THE RPM'S REV UP BRIEFLY THEN THE TRANS WILL SHIFT THE SHIFTING IS SMOOTH BUT THE HIGH RPMS WORRY ME.

when vw started to use the computer controlled gearbox system a criticism was the shift was very harsh,to counter this they made it rev slightly before changing.so that you know the system, try this out....without touching the gas.....put it in d and let the car accelerate to its max speed, stop, then use 1/3rd of gas (keep your foot still)and let it do the same...stop,then,if safe, put your foot to the floor, hard, notice when the car changes gear(revs/speed)then if you drive, only using the first1/3rd of the gas,the cars change pattern will alter to suit.......wierd it is.....

'88 VW Fox intermittently dying after starting

These CIS vehicle are tempermental. Best thing to do is change the air filter, clean air flow sensor plate(Spray gunout on a rag and lightly clean it ) Gun out throttle body and a slight idle adjustment. Finallyonce a month put some fuel injection cleaner in the tank. See how this works before we start testing items.

I have to put oil in the gearbox of Vw Polo diesel 1,9 (1998). Where is the right hole ?

I believe it is pretty much the same like on my Jetta 84 1.6 carb. However it is a left hole. :) Turn the front wheels all the way left. Look for a square like the one for changing motor oil, at the head of the gearbox. Oil should reach the lower edge of the opening when car is horizontal, according to my manual.

Gearbox

5 speed may be practical 6 speed would be very expensive and the 5 speed would probably be a closer fit

you do mean its a 5 speed with a clutch right? If so you need to purchase a heavy duty clutch which should handle it well .. that is if its a 5 speed standard shift... holler if you need more Jerry
