Are you sure is not 5 flashes with a short pause in between and then 5 more flashes? Code 55 indicates the end if the diagnosis.

On my 98' Intrepid I turn the key to "ON position" Three times.( on-off-on-off-on-off-on). Don't start it. It will show the trouble codes in the odometer space. To reset the codes just undo the Neg. battery cable for 30 mins..

possibly the fuel pump. here's a hint for code reading on a intrepid older than a 96. put the key in the ignition and turn in on without starting the engine. in this order

ON
OFF
ON
OFF
ON

then leave it in the on position. the check engine light will start flashing a mourse code at you. count them. all codes should be read as double digits. so if it blinks three times then pauses and blinks another four the code is 34. and the code reading will end at 55. write down the numbers and look them up.

i would investigate the crank position sensor-there could be your problem-i have seen this many times

if you buy a 20 dollar manual it has all the codes in it

first of all, check your code to see what the car computer shows. To do that , insert the key in the ignition and switch it on three time within 2 seconds and the third time live the key in the on position. All the instrument panel lights will lite and the oddometer will display the fault code that may br the cause for your car not starting. goood luck.

Have you cycled key to see if there are any trouble codes stored?
On,off,on,off,on. Leave in on position (not start) and count any flashes from check engine light. 2 flashes,short pause, and 2 more flashes =22. 3 flashes, pause, 3 more is code 33. etc when you get code 55, that's end of message.Let us know if anything comes up.

I don't have a dodge ram but the codes for the dodge vehicles where pretty much the same. For my intrepid the codes read for the following numbers

12 - Problem with battery connection (This usually happens if you disconnect the battery)
21 - Problem with the oxygen sensor circuit
52 - Oxygen Sensor signal input indicates rich mixture during engine operation.

It sounds like you may need to change an oxygen sensor. Hope this helps.

Code 12 is: Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles.

Code 21 is: Neither rich nor lean condition detected from the oxygen sensor input or oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating range.
