There has to be a broken wire in the harness. If it was anything else it would blow the fuse to the other two lights. So it has to be a broken wire. You should be able to get to the wires in the trunk. You will have to pull off the cover directly behind the lights. The wire could be broken inside of the insulation. So it may be very difficult to find.
Locate the fuse box underneath the drivers side steering wheel and remove the cover lid. Underneath the lid is a diagram of what each fuse controls. Locate the "Stop Lamp" and "Taillight" fuses and pull them out and check them with a fuse test light (avalible at your local auto parts store) Replace the burned out fuse with the same number fuse (the amp number is located on top of the fuse) and your lights will work again

hi michael. im attaching pictures to give you a clearer picture of the problem that i have. by the way, i believe the nissan exalta (released in the philippines) is just a higher version of the nissan sentra. Which is why im including the back-light wiring diagram of the nissan sentra 2001 (Canada/U.S version) that i got from the internet. I think its just the same.
fuse is ok by the way..
nissan sta (released in the phils) is just a higher version of the nissan sentra. fuses for tail lights and stop lights are ok. the only thing that is not working are the left/right reverse lights. The middle reverse lights are ok.
