Try looking under the hood. The pump may be located near the air filter box or by the fire wall. One way to also locate it is to have someone sit in the car with doors closed to simulate a load and listen for pump to come on, then follow sound til located. But usually they are located under the hood so the pump can get air to help cool it.
You could have a bad pump, or a leak somewhere in the system! The pump is usually located on the passenger side wheel well! From there, follow the air lines along the underneath side of the vehicle to the suspension unit! if there are no leaks to that point, you may have to replace the air bag on the rear. They are very expensive to replace also! My 89 Continental was $1400!
Its most likly blown air lines located at the pump. The pump is located just above the passenger side rear suspension. The air struts have hard lines ran into a splitter. The pump has a vacuum line ran into a tee and then to the strut splitter, to the evap filter (trunk fitting under the car). These lines get brittle and crack. 3 dollars (air line) car ramps, soapy water and a 3/16 socket and wrench with extention will do the job.
your rear AIR-SUSPENSION bag is leaking or pump not working....most of the time it's the relay located under thr RF fender toward the front...with a 3-wire connector connected to it....hope this helps you...GL
