This is hard you need to remove the manual trans house first then the bolts well here it is with the kit for replacement clutch parts it will come with instructions its all bolted in and make sure you line up clutch plate when installing

the fan should be 4 or 5 screws on the radiator remove the shroud then the screws in middle of fan if its a clutched fan you will find the screws threw the fan clutch

1994 Crown Victoria. How do I replace the water pump?

would not recommend this repair yourself. Radiator will have to be drained of coolant, take the serpentine belt off, the water pump is usually located on the center of the engine block (may have a fan mechanically attached to it that would have to be removed using a special fan clutch tool) remove several bolts that hold the water pump onto the engine, remove any hoses that may be attached as well. Clean the surface of the engine where the water pump used to be very well, new water pump should have a new gasket around it but you may want to use RTV to ensure there are no leaks. reinstall waterpump, fan, fan clutch, replace coolant in cooling system and bleed all air from the cooling system.

Rent a fan clutch removal tool from the parts house. Pull the whole unit out of the truck. There are 4 little bolts holding it on.

How to remove a water pump

Locate water pump.. It's where the bottom radiator hose goes from the radiator. Remove any brackets or parts that are in your way. Remove water pump! Reverse procedure for installation. You have to remove the fan clutch from the water pump shaft and lift the shroud, fan and clutch all out together. remove two bolts in the center radiator support which let the radiator move forward an inch or so, loosen the fan from the clutch for a little more wiggle room to get it out. The shroud will have rubber splash shields hooked to the lower sides too, so be sure to unhook them or you will tear out the holes in the rubber shields. The fan clutch has to come off anyway because it's attached to the water pump. You don't need to remove the fan shroud. Just take out two bolts on the fan clutch and loosen the other two so you can push the clutch back a little (DON'T let the fan clutch fall). Then remove the water pump. It's a little tight, but much easier than removing the fan shroud.the only specialty tool that you will need is the water pumpt "grab" tool and the fan clutch wrench. These two items come together in one kit that you can rent from the Auto Parts store.
The "grab" tool holds the water pumpt pully firmly while you rotate the fan clutch retainer using the fan clutch wrench.

DO NOT attempt to use a break over bar or some other home-grown tool to hold the water pump pully while attempting to break the fan clutch free - you will mess up the heads of the four retainer bolts holding the pully to the water pump face.
this will help.thanks.

Water pump replacement

Disconnect the negative battery cable, then drain the engine cooling system. 2. Relieve the belt tension, then remove the drive belt. 3. Remove the upper fan shroud, then remove the fan or fan and clutch assembly, as applicable. 4. Remove the water pump pulley. 5. If applicable, loosen the clamp(s) and disconnect the coolant hose(s) from the water pump. 6. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the water pump from the engine. Note the positions of all retainers as some engines will utilize different length fasteners in different locations and/or bolts and studs in different locations. To install: 7. Using a putty knife, carefully clean the gasket mounting surfaces. 8. Apply 1052080 or an equivalent sealant to the threads of the water pump retainers. Install the water pump to the engine using a new gasket, then thread the retainers in order to hold it in position. 9. Tighten the water pump retainers to specification: For the 4.3L engine, tighten the bolts and studs to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm). 10. If removed, connect the coolant hose(s) and secure using the retaining clamp(s). 11. Install the water pump pulley, then install the fan or fan and clutch assembly. 12. Position the serpentine belt over the pulleys, then carefully allow the tensioner back into contact with the belt. 13. Install the upper fan shroud, then connect the negative battery cable. 14. Properly refill the engine cooling system, then run the engine and check for leaks.

Fan clutch removal

the four bolts holding the fan clutch to the water pump pulley are loosened counter clockwise. If you don't have a pulley holding tool at hand, use a wrench(closed end side) as a locking leverage on the studs(do not place the wrench on the nuts) while loosening the nuts 1 by 1 with another wrench. When reinstalling use the same method, but place black elec tape over the studs(prevent thread damage) after you hand tighten the bolts for the fan clutch. hopefully this helps

Water pump

No you must take the fan clutch and fan off, that's not easy sometimes, usually the fan and clutch are pulled off using a pulling tool before you remove the pump, take it to a machine shop or Auto zone may help pull it. good luck
