Question about 2000 Cadillac Escalade

1 Answer

Engine won't start

The engine is cranking well with plenty of battery power, but no ignition
occurs. Historically, whenever this problem occured, simply waiting
5 to 10 minutes, and then attempting another restart resulted in a
normal start. Today, no such luck. Suspect fuel/ignition/computer/sensor
problem ? At the moment it is 100+ degrees with low humidity here in
Arizona.

Local mechanic made housecall yesterday and confirmed it was the fuel pump. New fuel pump installed this morning, problem solved. Thanks for good advice !

I have trouble getting my 2000 Escalade started mostly on the 1st start of the day. Once it starts, no issues again until the next morning. I have replaced the battery and spark plugs. I had a mechanic tell me that he suspects it is the starter, but he cannot confirm. Any way to verify if this is the starter or the fuel pump

Sounds like a bad fuel pump. Not uncommon on these vehicles.

My 2000 celica gts won't start when it is really

A no-start condition can occur with several different symptoms. Have a clear understanding of which one applies to your vehicle when having the problem diagnosed.

Here are the most common symptoms:

  • Engine will not turn over (or crank over)
  • Engine will turn over (crank) but will not start
  • Engine starts and dies (stalls)

2001 Nissan sentra se manual ....car won't start had the battery checked & the battery was good does anyone know what the problem could be?

Have you tied moving the gear selector to the Nuetral position instead of park and see if it cranks over. Do that, if no crank then read on below.

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

1994 Buick Century 3.1 liter V6. Engine fail and no crank/start hot

The engine in this car is controlled by a computer, whenever a problem like this occurs a fault code is almost always recorded for the event in history memory of the computer. You need a shop to read this code and perform eh proper diagnostics report the problem. Knowing this make i would say the CKP sensor is defective.

Trouble code P0320 ignition/dist. engine speed input circuit

P0320 - Ignition / distributor engine speed circuit malfunction

The ignition engine speed sensor input signal to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) is continuously monitored. The test fails when the signal indicates that 2 successive erratic profile ignition pickup (PIP) pulses occurred.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- The engine may stumble or stall

When is the code detected?
The P0320 code is triggered when 2 successive erratic PIP pulses are detected.

Possible Causes:
- Loose wires/connectors
- Faulty Crank Position Sensors
- Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, wires and plugs)
- Low battery charge
- Powertrain Control Module

Possible Solutions:
- Resecure loose wire or connectors
- If battery charge is low, recharge or replaced battery
- Replaced crank position sensor
- Replaced starter motor

Test it and tell us news.
