Usually if you have power it may be a fuel problem, when you turn your key to the on position you should hear your fuel pump come on, if not it could be the fuel pump relay under the hood or a possible bad fuel pump or bad connection on the fuel pump. hope this helps.

Everything works on the car but the starter wont engage and i just bought a new starter and battery

Take the starter back out but leave it connected. If it doesn't use a ground wire, make up a heavy wire and use that for ground.
When you hit the key, watch to see if the starter gear moves forward to engage an doesn't just spin. (it engages the flywheel when in place.) The engine isn't supposed to fire if it's not turning.

My car won't start even after av changed the starter

are the cables and battery posts ok! jump start to see if you get enough power to turn starter over. if it starts, then it may be a bad battery. if car is running and at battery you should have at least 13.6 to 14.2 if alternator is ok. another test is to have car off, turn on headlights with meter on battery posts, if the voltage drops way down. its the battery thats bad. good-day !

It shut off a few times when i hit the brake and slowed down, then days later i tried to sart iy and it started and kept shutting off,now it wont even turn over, but i have juice to everything

It sounds to me like you have a bad starter and that it may have stayed engaged with the flywheel. When you slowed the vehicle the starter may have still been in contact with the flywheel causing it to stall from the extra drag on the engine. Subsequently when you started it days later the starter may have still been engaged, but cooled off. It was all symptomatic of a bad starter. Now it has not only lost the battle to start the van, but gone as far as to join the other side. Current is still passing through the electrical system to power everything, but the starter is probably now locked up tighter than my grandma's coin purse. I hope that helps. Take the starter out and have it checked. Please rate any answers you may receive and leave a testimonial. Thanks for using Fixya.

Car just stop running

The ignition switch sounds like it was going bad. If you're getting power to everything else(headlights, radio) then you're battery should be good.

If your starter was going bad, then typically the light would dim, because it would try to turn the starter over and it requires a lot of power to do that.

So check those and then you've narrowed your options. Try spraying some WD-40 in the switch and try to start it that way. Sometimes when those switch give out, you can still press really hard on them and it'll engage the start circuit.

Could have also knocked your neutral safety switch loose, that is, if it's an automatic. This is the switch that prevents you from starting the car while in drive. Try starting the car in park. If that doesn't work, start the car in neutral. If that doesn't work, turn the key and hold it while at the same time moving your shifter around the neutral area. If it starts to turn over, then it's a misaligned neutral safety switch.
