Specifically where is the heater core located on a 96 Buick Skylark 4 cyl. w/air?

Hi there,

Well the heater core is located under the dash on the passenger side, usually cased in a plastic housing. You may have to remove the glove box in order to have access to. And when you get to the point, when you are disconnecting the coolant lines and remove the core you use some clothes to protect the carpet as fluid may drip. Post comments for further help or information........
Good Luck!!

How do you replace heater core on 1993 buick skylark

it could be the electronic switch down under the dash that is faulty, not allowing the flap to close off and cycle the water through the heater core..

Heater core - where is it?

Heater cores are located in the passenger compartment, under the dash behind the glove compartment at the firewall, if you look in the engine compartment and follow the the two black hoses that are about 1" to 1-1/4" diameter as they go towards the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle(towards glovebox area) they are connected directly to the inlet and outlet tubes that are part of the heater core. Good luck !

Replacement of heatercore

I believe you have to dissassemble the lower part of the hvac unit under the dash to gain access to the heater core, then disconnect the hoses at the firewall and remove the heater core.

Heater Core Replacement for 1986 Buick Electra Park Ave

there is no easy way to change out a heater core...you have to take the bottom part of the dash loose and that takes some doing. once you get the bottom of the dash apart you will see the heater core.then you have to go under the hood and unhook both water lines that run to it, you should then be able to pull the heater core out and install the new one

1986 Buick Skylark heater blows out cold air

In many cars there is a flapper valve in the ductwork which is sometimes vacuum actuated. If this flapper is stuck or the vacuum line is unhooked or deteriorated, you will not feel any warm air at the vents.Look under the dash for rubber vacuum lines or try moving the selector knob for HOT/COLD or FEET/VENT/DEFROST while revving engine alittle to increase vacuum.

Water under dash board 1983 buick skylark

Your heater core needs to be replaced. The heater core is like a mini radiator, providing heat for the interior by coolant circulating from the engine, into the heater core, and back to the engine again. Like a radiator, a heater core can spring a leak, especially w/ age as a factor. This results in the leak inside the car, which also causes the 'smoke' you see, which is actually vapor form of coolant.

Pull the panel under the glove box. You should be able to see the heater core. disconnect the two hoses under the hood on the firewall to the heater core. put a pan below to catch the antifreeze. Replace heater core. reconnect hoses.
