almost the same grrrr's. changed plug wires, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter. Still same. RPM goes down to 500 when at stop light, goes up when put in N but in D and stopped, goes down again. old plugs had very white core but no damage or build-up.

How do i adjust the ignition timing on a 1993 nissan maxima V6?

If its the VQ 3.0 V6 then the ignition timing is done through the ECU via timing sensors. Here is a web site that has workshop manuals you can download for free. I have downloaded them for my 97 Nissan Maxima. https://manuals.co/workshop/nissan/maxima

Hello, Where is the Cam position sensor located on a 2004 Nissan maxima bank 1 located?

3.5litre V6 Front wheel drive, the cam position sensor is in the back of the cylinder head above the transmission. bank one is the front bank, nearest to the grill. the cam sensor is held into the head with a 10mm bolt, has one wireing connector with 3 wires in it. the sensor is sort of round with a leg off one side for the bolt the secure.
may need to remove the engine cover to see it. it is held down with allen key bolts.

How can i tell if my 1994 nissan maxima is single or dual cam?

Pretty easy to tell even without taking the valve cover off.
If it is a dual cam, then the spark plugs are lined up right down the middle, between the 2 cams.
Which is optimal.
If it is a single cam, the plugs have to be off to one side, on an angle.
Which is not as good.

Weird Noise

sounds like you might have a bad lifter or possible a bad cam bearing.
