Question about 1981 Ford F 100
Bearing is shot on drivers side rear axle. Have removed axle nuts inside hub but axle does not come out. Do I need to get inside differential to remove this axle?
This Axel Is A C-Clip Type. The Sider Gear Cross Shaft Must Be Removed. This Shaft Has A Small Retaining Bolt. 8MM Socket Will Remove It. The Shaft Will Push Out By Hand. Do Not Drop Spider Gear Thrust Washers. Push In On Axels To Release C-CLIPS. Axels Will Slide Out. When Reassembly Do not Go To Tight With Cross Shaft Retaining Bolt. Also When Removing Axels Do Not Bang Outer Bearing Seals.

If there is a rear removeable plate then you need to take it off and remove the c clip holding in the axle If there is no removeable plate all you need is a slide hammer tool to pull the axle it takes some banging but it works
