It might be your fuel injectors clogged maybe.

Yeah, The fuel filter for a 2.2L plymouth reliant Le is on the passenger side just before the rear tire. Its like right next to the gas tank. Sort of in by the middle (not by the body frame). Hope this helps.

The lines might be plugged. Find some way to blow (clean) them out.

I also have a 1988 Reliant. I want to change the Fuel Filter, but I can't find where the old Fuel Filter is & how to fix it. Any ideas?

Check the ignition timing is correct. I see that you have changed the wires so I suggest that you recheck the firing order for the plugs as it is easy to get it wrong when replacing the leads.

check you exhaust. you may have a damaged cat or a broken baffle in the exhaust eather of these will stall the engine and you will have a strong smell of fuel.

I need to know where I can find the fuel reset button.

Although many Ford vehicles have a fuel pump inertia swtich that can be reset if tripped, there isn't a fuel reset button on this vehicle. Power for the fuel pump is supplied by a 20 amp fuse [#6 in the relay center I believe] and the power is routed through the fuel pump relay which is controlled by the Engine Control Module and then sent out to the pump. I rarely see a blown fuse or bad relay but do see a lot of pumps that wear out an quit working.

WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY

It is located behind right hand side of the dash....in the relay center you will see a section of fuses 15 amp.20 amp etc. the next spot above that is a empty space and then above that is the fuel pump relay.

Either the fuel filter is clogged or the fuel pump is bad or the fuse is bad in the pump. how do i find out. and where are they located on the car

fuel filter is generally located under the passenger seat under the car. fuel pump is in the gas tank and fuse/relay will be in the engine compartment fuse panel near the battery.
