Sorry but if alarm isnt workiing then you will have to get it taken out ,this is a lenghty job but easy to do ,hasnt this alarm got a ket turn off switch ?? most have one if you cannot find the key then open box and have a look as some need the wires cutting off and some need the wires to be joined .these boy racer alarms are fraught with problems when they get old i have removed no end of them

The following is instructions for replacing the timing (or camshaft) belt on the 1.8i petrol engine, as fitted to a Freelander. This is the K-series ... With the timing set, thecam sprocket marks should look like this. Posted Image
THESE TRANSMISSIONS USE SPECIAL OIL.. YOU CANNOT USE REGULAR TRANSMISSION OIL... SINTHETIC OIL AND ITS MORE EXPENSIVE... DRAIN THAT IMMEDIATELY AND REPLACE..YOU COULD HAVE DAMAGED THE ****** BY PUTTING THE WRONG OIL. FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS REQUEST FREE INSTRUCTIONAL MANUAL AT WWW.BESTDIRECTORYSOLUTIONS.COM
Hi,
Judging by the problem you have a 1.8 petrol engine?,if it is they used to over fuel on start up ,you can try changing the engine coolant temp sensor as this is the usual cause ,if not then some more info on the vehicle would be usefull.
Lefthand side of the engine compartment bulkhead, if its a diesel, beneath the rear seat, (fold down), remove inspection panel, and remove pump, filter is inside, for petrol.
More than likely you are having an engine missfire. They are reknowned for problems with the coil packs that produce the spark for the plugs. They it up the road and labour the engine until it does it on full throttle. then back of the throttle to see if it stops. |Then back on to see if it starts again. Most likely it will. Change the plugs first. this will probably cure it short time as new plugs reduce the load on the coil packs. Best change coil packs though also. Cheers John
