Accidently drained gear box oil , dont know where 2 put it back in , 2007 kia 4 cylenda manual

If auto you refill through the auto dipstick, If manual you will find a plug approx 1/3 - 1/2 way up the side of the g/box. The engine oil drain plug will be infront of the gear box (should be a 14 mm bolt) located on the engine sump.

most kia's use a 17 milimeter check it first make sure you use a washer gasket when yuo put the plug back in. if you have been getting quick lube ,those goof balls like to round off your plugs by noy using metric and they dont put the washer gaskets back on

there should be two bolts on the bottom of the transmission the higher one is for the fill and the lower one is the drain... for an 05 optima i recommend 2 quarts penzoil manual transmission gear oil

As far as I know there is no gear oil to change on most front wheel drive cars with and automatic. If you are changing the transmission fluid make sure you put the right stuff back in it. Chrysler has there own fluid specs. If it has a manual transmission the the differential is built into the transaxel and there should be just the one gearcase. There again make sure you use the right oil check the owners manual.

You can purchase the gear box fluid at any automotive parts store. There is a plug on the side of the transmission which you remove and stick your index finger in the transmission you should be able to feel the fluid. If not, then add fluid until you can feel it, or it just starts running back out of the hole. If you are talking about the rear end it is serviced the same way. Remove the plug and put fluid in until it just starts to run out. This is a 90 weight oil made especially for the transmission and rear end.

you have to take off the speedometer cable/wiring harness from the top of the trans and fill it from there....one 10mm bolt...very awkward spot...it might be snug, so just take a flat head screwdriver from underneath to tap it loose...

raise your car. make sure you have jack stand and use them before you crawl underneath.

go under your transmission and look for a hexagonal nut or plug at the very bottom of the transmission or gear box.
that is the drain plug. it is very tight , i warn you.

then after you drain all the oil, replace it and tighten it too.

then look for almost the same size of bolt at the side of the transmission or gear box.

this is the fill hole and at the same time the full hole plug.
if the new oil that you are putting in is already over flowing out of the hole, put back the plug right away because that is the full level already.

you can use a hose that would fit just through the hole and insert it to your new gear oil. then let it pass trough gravity towards the gear box.
