My gas guage went from Empty to Full on its own and I never knew how much gas was in my vehicle. I was driving the other day and it stalled. Pulled into a parking lot let it sit a bit and it started right back up and I was able to drive again. Went to nearest gas station to put gas in. I put in $10 and I drove 3.4 miles and well it died on me again. I pushed the vehicle into my garage. I called around to see what could be wrong and I was told numerous things. I finally went under the vehicle where there is this clearish/white box under the Driverside area and I noticed it was corroded and dirty. I went in the house got a spray bottle with HOT WATER and sprayed it. I noticed that I had 3 prongs broke off. So I went to a local dealership for GM/Buick and I got the pins I needed to fix the problem and I went home fixed the broken pins and well now my vehicle works great and the vehicle runs great and gas guage problem was fixed as well. So for all of you that think you might have a fuel problem, fuel pump problem or gas guage problem check into the wire harness box under your vehicle and you will be able to fix it for Pennies instead of paying the $750 or more for something you cna fix at home. I love my Rendezvous and I would buy another one again.

couple things to look at
dead cell in battery
battery positive negative cables loosened up or bad wires
ignition coil
if you have one of the security keys with microchip
the security feature could be worn out which means replace key cylinder and they will give you new key along with it
ignition relay bad had this happen to me when vehicle was cold the moisture built up in relay and froze the relay component connections i still had to manual start vehicle with manual starter

ok my words might need little reconstruction
but you have a bad efi for the spark plug control
sometimes my mind works sometimes its stops dead in tracks
the efi= where the spark plug cables connect to the box all attached
bad coil relay

Car won t start not battery

rule 1> check all fuses.
rule 2> clean battery lugs.

this is NO CRANK, no car starts , if it can't crank over, (mine i can push start (m/t trannys rule)
step 1 is jumper starting, with jumper cables.
if it starts, the battery is bad, or simple discharged.
if it dont jumper start. then the starting system is bad.
no transmission stated?
the A/T you wiggle the shiftlever, to start.
or start in NEUTRAL, this uses fresh start contacts.

if you get this far and it will NOT crank over
then hot wire the starter.
if that works, then the starter is good and the key line is bad
if the starter is still dead hot wired, the starter is bad (battery good )

Jeep chokee wont start sometimes.

Won't start sometimes is not much to go on, but...
does it crank but not run or does it not turn over?
If it won't crank (turn the engine) then the problem is in the starting circuit (starter, starter selenoid, battery, battery connections (especially the ground) or starter switch [or the wiring and or circuit protection devices and their connections].

If it turns over, but won't run (sometimes) then the problem is most likely either that it isn't getting spark or it isn't getting fuel. There are so many different possibilities here that I am hesitant to begin even listing them. Does it run well once it is started?

If it runs well after it is started that would likely rule out some mechanical issues like compression/head-gasket etc.

If you post more details about the symptoms, you will probably get more useful information back.

My vehicle has difficulty starting, it's weak to start and makes a loud screeching sound at the same time.

The problem is the starter is not meshing with the flywheel properly or the gear on the starter is stripped or the flywheel gear is stripped. You will have to remove the starter and then check the flywheel gear they should be sharp looking if they look sort of rounded then you have to replace the flywheel. If the flywheel is OK then check the gear on the starter and the same rule applies (Sharp or Rounded ) If this is OK then the Starter is not position to the flywheel properly so you must adjust it by shimming it. Sometimes you have to replace the starter because the starter has been lose and the holes for the bolts have widened and there is to much play.

I am having a hard time starting my engine. usually it just goes "CLICK". i turn it off again and do the same. sometimes i pound my fuse box or the battery. i had a new battery installed already and the...

It sounds like you either need new starter brushes or a new starter. If you turn the key and the starter just clicks, try tapping gently on the starter with a metal bar. If the starter then turns over you should take it out and replace the brushes or put in a new or rebuilt starter. When you have to start tapping on the starter you may only have a few starts left.

When i start the vehicle, it will not turn over

Sounds like your starter and/or solenoid is on it's way out. First be certain that all your battery connections are clean and tight. Also when your vehicle is ready to go for a ride, drive it over to your local AutoZone parts store for a free Alternator Test to rule that out. They can also do a free "bench test" on your starter.

1995 Bonneville will not start. Battery is working, however car will not turn over. I do not belive it is the starter and was told it was the motor. Is this the same as engine and how much will this cost,...

You don't want it to be the motor/engine. Be sure the battery is good. Then go to the starter. IF it has been a very long time since it was started the starter may be a problem. After the starter is ruled out then and only then do you consider the motor. Hope it helps.

My sisters 1996 lincoln continental sometimes starts sometimes wo

Definitely sounds like a starter. When a bad starter is cold, it will start the car. After riding around for a while or after several starts in a row, the starter heats up and won't start without a boost. Since you've ruled out the battery and alternator, I'm positive a new starter will solve your problem. Good Luck!

Won't start

That clicking you hear is the starter solenoid. There are two reasons for this, one is not enough power to crank the starter, but it looks like you have ruled out that possibilty. The other is the starter and/or solenoid are going bad. Although sometimes your starter can develop flat spots and prevent starting, If you are handy and can locate the starter, try tapping on it with a rubber mallet then try starting the car.(I've started alot cars w/ starter problems this way) If it starts then it's definatly your starter and it needs to be replaced. Flat spots occur from overcranking which cause's alot of heats, can also be caused by cranking when engine is already running. Anyway here's a few tips and I hope this helps
