Renault Laguna 2.0 litre 16v Executive - car alarm stopped working
I had to change the battery on my Laguna, only problem is once the new battery was fitted the car alarm stopped working. I have checked the fuse for it, that was ok, then i went to see if i could have a look at the actual alarm, but have absolutely no idea where it is. From my understanding the alarm comes as standard, so i thought i would have a look at the manual, but the is no mention about the alarm system.
Has anyone got any advice? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds as though there is a charging problem with the car. It starts when battery fully charged but when the charge is low it fails to start. I would get a mechanic to connect his meter to the battery and see if it is charging as it should. It is also possible that something is draining the battery when not in use. Check interior lights are going out when parked up, nothing is plugged into cigarette lighter outlets attached to sat nav etc., things like that.
try this ?= renew the throttle fly by wire control inside the the car ,they go just like the way you describe ,car runs then just stops ,leave and it goes again ,trust me been their got the teashirt on this one ,some customer paid out over 2000 euros to a renault garage for the same fault and it was still the same till a little bird told me what to change ,with one from the scrappers it been ok ever since
I had a similar problem with my Renault Espace 16V 2 litre. Try replacing the Idle Control Valve. Costs some 25 -30 Euros on Internet shops in Germany and is just held in plce with 2 screws. You can also just remove it and clean the shaft etc with a good solvent, since with time this gets really clogged-up, and then replace it and hope that you have resolved it. After refitting either a new one or a cleaned one, you should let the motor idle for awhile so that the MCU can reset itself.
Best of luck, Joe N
not sure.you could try discounting car battery but make sure you have radio code or radio will not work again.leave it disconnected for say 30min and reconnect battery.may reset alarm and computer.worth a try
hi.disconnect both sides of heated element on rear screen.connect a wire on one side and the other side maybe using a spade connector.connect one side to a 12v car battery same with the other.may get a slight spark.leave on and see if screen gets hot.better when mist is on screen to see working.if it doesmt demist more than likely screen needs replacing.try a electric meter connected on screen.should be lowish resistance.also try connecting a volt meter to the screen heater connections you taken off screen.one lead one side and same with other.set meter to volts normally 20v setting.put key in car switch one rear screen .voltage should read on meter.about 12v.if not switch may be faulty or heated screen relay.hope this helps
