Heater fan not working

Heater blower was working, stopped to get gas and turned vehicle back on and blower not working. I checked with a test light and 3 fuses not lighting up but not blown. Would it be a resistor or relay? if so cannot identify it or how to check it.

I hooked blower to battery, it worked, put blower back in, have power at outside fuse box, power on inside fuse box and a new relay, I put mulit meter to blowe connector, show to have 12.9 volts. Blower still not working, also trouble locating resistor box, Chilton's book not real clear. Any suggestions?

I just lost my heater fan today in my 01 Kia Rio. I had this happen before when it was under warranty. It ended up being a resister. I looked at the bill to see what it would have cost if not under the warranty and it was over a $500 repair. This happened back in 03, hopefully it doesn't cost that much now!

Hello, I also have the same problem with my 98 Contour. My Heater use to work all the time. I Thought it may have been a fuse but I Checked Nothing burned out. Then I Pulled down the Fuse Box While the Car was Running then it came back on. I believe it must be a ground wire or a wire that is not receiving full contact.

I closed the fuse box door and my heater blower started to work again...definitely a connector problem inherent with ford fuse boxes.

I had this happen in my 01' Kia Rio when it was under warranty. It ended up being a resister. If I had to pay for this repair it would have cost over $500. This happened back in 03'. Hopefully the repair is much less now. Good Luck!

I replaced the heater blower resistor, and the fan is still missing the same speed?

The blower motor is ground side controlled through the switch first and then through the blower resistor. It is entirely possible for the resistor to be fine and the switch is actually your problem.

I need to know what speed is not working and if you have a test light or a volt meter? I will then be able to get you some detailed instructions on what to check to find the true source of you problem.

If you don't have a test light or a voltmeter than you next best possible fix is replacing the fan speed switch.

I had the heater and defroster on this morning. I stopped for gas and stopped the engine. When I started the car again the fan and defroster suddenly stopped and the heater, fan, nor defroster would come...

check the blower motor fuse, then you can turn truck on put the speed control to high. if fuse is blown replace fuse, if the speed control only works on high, the blower motor resistor needs replacing. It is on passenger side under glove box in close proximity to the blower motor. The fuse is under the hood on driver side. the cover should say fuses/relay on the top of cover, on most ford vehicles you will need to look in the owners manual for the position of the fuse.

if the lower fan speeds dont work but the fastest speed does the heater fan resistor block needs replacing. If the highest fan speed doesnt work leave it on there and check for power at heater blower fan, if power is on one wire and the other is an earth the blower motor fan needs replacing. Use a normal globe test light to check this. If no power on any wires to fan go back and check all fuses in car and under bonnet with same test light. If fuses are ok possible open circuit wire to fan.

No fan for the heater

First check the fuse for the blower motor in the fuse panel if it is blown replace it and see if blower works. If still not working you will need to buy a test light from your local auto parts store and check for voltage at the blower motor red wire if the test light shows voltage you might have a bad blower motor. There's a trick to test the motor called the tap test start the car and turn the heater fan on high using a mid size screw driver tap on the blower motor and see if it comes on if it does you need a new motor.

My the fan on my 05 impala does not turn on

I think you need to check the blower motor first,
using a test light locate the blower motor,it will be behind the glove box under the dash,Turn the key on and the fan switch on,now check the wires to motor,One will be black thats ground,Check the other it could be red or blue,if your test light lights up its the motor.

2003 Kia Spectra. My heater just stopped working,

Your manual ,in the glove box, will tell where the fuse panel is,and witch fuse,if the fuse is not blown, the blower motor has went out.Find the blower motor, and bump it with your hand,it may,or may not make it stat running again, but if it starts back up,then the blower motor is bad for sure, testing the motor with a test light will tell for sure if it is getting voltage to it,and if it is,then it is bad,if not,the blower relay,or the fan control switch is bad, test them with a test light also.

2000 Olds Alero. Cooling/Heating fan stopped

The blower is on the right hand side under the dash. You are right in thinking the blower resistor is the problem. The resistor is in the heater box behind the blower. Only 2 bolts hold it in but the back one can be a challenge to remove. The bolt is 5.5 mm.

Check for power and ground with a test light at the resistor connector. You should have power on the colored wires in the various switch positions. The black one is ground.

Air stopped blowing on ac/heater

Check your fuses. If you have a test light, unplug the blower motor, start the car, turn the fan on, if you have power to the blower plug, the blower motor is bad. If no power, if it's not a fuse, check the blower motor resistor. Should be mounted right next to the blower motor. It is inserted into the evaporator box
