The fuel filter is located with the fuel pump inside the gas tank

The fuel filter is located under the truck just inside of the frame rail almost directly below the rear seat on the driver side .

how can you tell if its the fuel filter, or how can i tell if the filter is bad

  • Brian Jones Dec 09, 2013

it would really depend on what is happening, if there is no fuel being pulled from the tank ir is most likely not either filter and is either a fuse or the pump. If it is intermittent fuel delivery most likely not the fuse and you should start with the filter on the rail, there is another one in the tank as well if that does not solve the issue.

All you have to do is follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to find it. most likely it is at the rear of the engine and that is why it is hard to spot.

On 94 Isuzu pickup 2.3 liters , I install new fuel pump and filters I have no gas at carb. It's has a mechanical pump. How do I catch prime? Starting fuel starts it then it dies.

I have a diesel van and what I do to prime fuel lines is to connect a fuel hose to the inlet of the filter. Using a fuel container. I know it is a rough rigging but it has kept me from towing my van to the mechanic

Why does my 2001 isuzu tooper shuts off I stop at red light or stop signs?

If your mechanics say the mass air flow sensor, fuel pump and fuel filter is good then check your intake Manifold Gasket. It is a hard 1/4 inch thick plastic gasket that cracks frequently and causes sputtering when letting off your gas pedal and eventually lead to stalling at red lights and stop signs if cracked bad enough.

Po300 codes are system generated caused by computer can not locate real failure condition. Coil on plug engines the coil boots fail and wider gap spark plugs wrong spark plugs by design, secondary ignition wires, vacuum leaks, poor fuel quality, plugged fuel filter, low fuel pressure , leaking pressure regulator, unmetered air between mass air flow sensor and throttle body, crankcase ventilation leak.

My 03 ascender has an acceleration issue it does it every now and then usually once I go from a complete stop sounds like it wants to cut off.

This sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve. This is located on the throttle body, and it controls idle speed and the fuel/air ratio when the accelerator is disengaged. Another problem could be loss of fuel; try changing the fuel filter and having your fuel pump tested for proper pressure. If that's not the case, try checking your Fuel Pressure Regulator. There are a number of things you can do, but since you don't seem to have a Service Engine Soon Light, it's difficult to diagnose the problem.

My gas mileage is horrible. what can i do to fix

Okay... K&N drop-in filter, NGK V-Power plugs (and NGK wires), run tires 2-4psi over manufacturer's recommendation, replace fuel filter anually, use a good fuel system cleaner every oil change, use synthetic oil in the crankcase, transmission AND differentials, drive with windows up and A/C off (just vents), drive 55mph on freeway (this one is HUGE), slow acceleration and try not to drive short distances. These are all "hyper-mileage" techniques that garner better fuel economy. If there is a mechanical problem causing the fuel economy to be bad, the spark plugs, wires and filters ought to be a help.

i hope this helps out,
matthew
