Question about 2004 Honda Pilot

Honda Pilot 2005 windshield wiper stopped working

My SRS (airbag) light is on- and the back windshield wiper stopped working. I changed the fuse and as soon as I turned on the rear wiper- the fuse popped again. So I brought a bigger fuse (it was initially 7.5 and I have a 10 on there now.) When I took it to Honda- they said that the wiper engine had a short and would cost me $350 to fix. However they are not aware that if I use a larger fuse- the wipers still work. They told be that the engine is shot I Don’t believe them because if I use a larger fuse then recommended- the wipers do work. The problem is that the SRS light does not turn off. (Honda said as long as the fuse doesn’t blow- the airbags should be fine.) So can I install a larger fuse-(perhaps a 12 or 15) and will this still fire off the airbags incase of an accident?

2003 Pilot EX - My SRS light (red circle on dash) has been on for a month now, and just yesterday my rear wiper stopped in the middle of a wipe.

Are these two somehow related? Are they both fuse driven?

This just happened to my 04 Pilot. The airbag light came on and the rear windshield wiper stopped working on the same day. This must not be a coincidence. I really don't want to have to take this in to get fixed, I hate the cost to fix things.

I have 2004 pilot, i took it to get serviced, while waiting outside I cleaned the rear window and the wiper failed. I got the mechanic to fix that as well as the service, when I picked up the vehicle the airbag light was on, and have spent 2 hours at Honda Service garages trying to read the code, they say there is no code to read, yet I don't believe my airbag is operational, and would prefer to have that working. Not sure what to do. But after reading these stories it sure seems that rear wipers (fuse) and airbags are connected.

2004 Pilot Air bag light came on the same time the rear wiper was used this cold morning 15 degrees.

Same thing happened to us this past week with cold weather. We have a 2004 Pilot--rear wiper stopped working and airbag light is on. After changing 7.5 amp fuse, rear wiper is working, but airbag light remains on.

replaced burnt out 30 amp fuse, turned
on wipers and it worked about 10 seconds then stopped! Checked new fuse and it burnt out also that fast.
What is wrong that the fuses burn out
    that fast???

What you are doing gets things working again, but its just not safe. If the wiper motor or wiring has a short in it, it creates heat, and the wires leading to the wiper motor are not set up to handle the amperage that the higer rated fuses are sending trough them. Its only going to get worse, and if you put in a larger fuse, it will get hotter. Eventually you will have a fire. You need to find out what is causing the issue and get it resolved. I am not sure that the SRS(airbag) system will work with the light on either. Id take it to another shop if you cant afford the repair work at the honda dealership. Good luck.

I replaced a fuse for the instrument panel on a 2004 Honda Pilot. As soon as the new fuse went in, the airbag light came on and won't go off. How do I reset it?

There is no reset for the SRS system. The system performs a self test every time the key is cycled to the on position. If there is a fault detected the system will not arm. To get the light off you need to have a scan tool hooked to the OBDII port that is capable of accessing the SRS diagnostic module.

My 2004 Honda Pilot rear wiper and washer fluid stopped working and the air bag light came on. How do I fix it?

You blew a fuse, the rear wiper and side impact airbags both run off the same 7.5mw fuse that can be found with all them other fuses under your dash. I don't believe that its labeled. just pop them out one at time until you find the one that's blown!

My srs airbag warning light doesn't go out on my 05 honda pilot. How do I shut it off

There are 4 most important components involved in the airbag deploy system.
Airbag itself.
Airbag Clock Spring.
Airbag Control Unit (ACU) or Airbag Module.
Airbag Impact Sensors.
If it is any problem in the components, then Airbag Light stays ON.
Sometimes there is a false code, and AUC can be cleared and reset. This can be done by professionals and cost $60 to $70. Might be a loose connector or a defective component, in this case they might charge you more.
The light indicates a problem with your air bags. Do not attempt to do any repairs to the system by yourself. Take it to the Honda dealer or a qualified service center.

Front wipers on my 2005 honda pilot are not working but rear is

The wipers in the front probably have there own seperate fuse. You need to check on it and see if you have blown one out. The diagram on the fuse box should point out wipers. Pull it out and look in the little window on the fuse to see if the wire hasbeen burnt in two. If so replace it and check wipers. If you do not have thefuse box diagram then just pull each fuse one at a time and replace it back into the same spot and move to the next fuse. Replace any that have been burnt. There may be more then one so keep going until all have been checked. I hope this helped, The Raz

SRS light stays on

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.
