Question about 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Car Wont Start

The car will not start. The battery is charged and reading 12 volts. The relay clicks but starter does nothing.

    I have had the same problem an tock it to the dealer. It was suposably fixed after the 4th time i tock it back. Then I was told it was becouse the computer whent out in it. An naw we will see if it is realy fixed this time. I hope so becouse this has been such an ongoing problem. Good luck with your car.

    My starting problem was would only happen every once ever so offend, then it became more offend ,I replaced the battery ,it was ok for bit, and started having starting problems again. I had the battery tested ,and was told the alternator was bad, I replaced the alternator, it was fine for a short time then started not starting every time again. and then stopped altogether while my wife was trying to leave her friends house,you could turn the key and would make a slight clunk and not turn over,tried to jump it nothing. tried disconnecting battery to reset it, nothing had it towed ,towtruck driver tried turning it over nothing. I tried one more time after it worked once,and nothing but a slight clunk after that one time. HELP !!!! is this a factory defect or what ?

    Car won't start. Battery charged. Little click when I try to turn over key. Car has power. also ? anti theft mechanism

    when i remove the tcm fuse and put it back in the tcm relay clicks and reads 140 ma on meter and when i pull tcm fuse reads 70 ma and battery light comes on and goes off and voltage at battery when running is a little over 14 volts

It could possibly be a battery with no or very low amps. I would get it checked by a dealer or many auto parts stores have battery testers.

Why wont my car start it died going down the road replaced starter?


If you put a volt meter on the battery and it reads 12 volts before you cranked the engine and it drops to 10 volts or less when you crank the engine, this indicates you have a bad cell in the battery and you should replace the battery because it is not holding the charge. The loud click sound coming from your starter is because you are not supplying enough voltage to energize it.

Sounds like the battery is weak. Yea 12 volts its good, but it needs it under the load also. Your local auto parts store Sb able to test it

My car wont start even with a jump it click's a few time's while trying to start it then it does nothing it act's like the battery does when it's dead but i had it checked out and they say it's good what...


If you can borrow a draw test meter from a tool loaner Program, you can check the starter draw. A weak link is the starter Relay which can be jumped with battery cable jumpers.

By using the by-pass method, you are working around a potential problem with the anti-theft system. The anti-theft system reduces battery voltage to your starter to around 7 Volts so that the car can not be stolen.

If you find that the starter turns normally when bypassing the Relay, you may have either a bad starter Relay or the antitheft has activated. Take a Voltage reading on the main wire (between the Relay and starter) to see if it is at 12 Volts when cranking.. If voltage is at 12, then the starter is probably bad if it just clicks.

Audi just stopped while driving, tryed too start it and it wont start

NOTE: some vehicles have the starter relay and starter mounted together as 1 unit. Sometimes the starter relay and starter are seperate. When I refer to "relay" it could also mean the starter and relay as 1 unit.
Note: "starter switch" is not to be confused with "key switch", although sometimes they are all one unit. The starter switch is usually mounted on the steering column and actuated by a metal rod. On units that are all one unit, the keyswitch/starter switch (both one unit) will have to be replaced. (this is a rare problem, so don't get worried just yet)
1. Check battery voltage, should be between 12.5-14.5 volts. if low voltage replace or charge battery, and try to start car, if it don't crank with new or charged battery, move on.
2. Check connections on the starter relay, even the small one coming from your starter switch. if loose or corroded, clean with a brush and reconnect them. Try to start your car. Did it start? if not, Move on
3. Well now we know the connections aren't the problem. How about a click? did you hear one? If a click is heard, go to #4, if nothing is heard, go to #5
4. Well at least the relay is clicking, but nothing else is going on. The relay is working, so the starter must be bad. Replace the starter and start your car!
5. Humm, connections aren't the problem, maybe the relay is bad, replace your relay with a new one. Move on
6. Now we have a new relay, with clean and tight connections. Start your car. Does it start? If yes, then HORRAY! we fixed it. Does it click? If so then goto #7, If it don't click, then goto #8
7. So here we have a new relay, with good connections that will click when trying to start the car, but nothing else happens. Starter is faulty, replace the starter, and off you go, see ya!

My 2003 Pontiac Sunfire wont start or turn over. I do have power.

Wont start when warmed up


I will post my article titled "My starter won't crank my engine"...... If it does not fix your problem, then the very last thing it would be, is the catalytic converter is clogged creating extreme backpressure, which will cause your engine to stall, but start back after the backpressure releases, which can be a few hours depending on the clog.

Car wont start just one click and a hum when key is turned


Hello! do you have a multimeter and a little experience using it? if not just let me know...If you do set it to read 12 volts...clip the (-) probe to the (-) battery terminal and the (+) probe to the Brown wire that connects to the starter motor...Have someone turn the key to start...+12 volts must be on that Brown wire...If not the starter relay (even though it clicks) is defective...Check for 12 volts on the large Red lead connected to the starter...If voltage is correct the starter is defective; replace starter...See diagram below for location of starter...Guru...saailer

My interior lights turn on everything works its just my engine wont turn over it sounds like a clicking noise


Battery is weak or bad. The clicking noise is the starter solenoid and is a result of...not enough power in the battery.

2004 E150 van wont start. -5 degrees last night, battery is less than a year old and tests out OK according to NAPA test. When key is thrown, just a click is heard. Dash volt meter reads normal,...


START BY CLEANING THE BATTERY TERMINALS. NEG CABLE OFF FIRST THEN POSITIVE. CLEAN CABLES & TERMINALS PUT CABLES BACK ON & TIGHTEN POS. FIRST, NEGATIVE ON LAST & TIGHTEN. IF THAT DOESN'T DO IT. LOCATE STARTER RELAY ON FENDERWELL. TURN KEY TO START. MEASURE VOLTAGE AT STARTER RELAY. IT SHOULD READ NEAR 12 VOLTS. IF NOT CHECK NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH. THE STARTER MAY BE STUCK OR WORN AS A LAST RESORT HOLD IGNITION SWITCH IN START POSITION, AT THE SAME TIME TAP ON METAL PART OF STARTER WITH MEDIUM SIZE HAMMER. IF STARTER GOES AFTER HAMMER TEST, REPAIR OR REPLACE STARTER.
