Up-front/top of engine clacking

This is a 3.2 engine with 130000 and this noise is loud ( like out of adjustment lifters in a pushrod engine). the noise is up top and in front of the engine( timing cover area) and the noise completely disappears at 2500 rpm only to start back below that rpm. any ideas?

I have a 97 rodeo and my lifters noise are loudest when the car is idling or moving slowly. It seems to lessen when I am driving at a gigher speed or maybe I can't hear it as much. Any help?

I just had the same thing. I thought it was a lifter. Ended up being a busted piston. Replaced the motor after I looked at the price of a rebuild. try checking the comp. good luck

There is a vaccuum line (if its 2wd and if its 4wd it will have a house) on the intack looks like a little nub on the passanger side if u run some transmition fluid in it it makes it a bit quieter i have a 1996 rodeo that has 205000 miles on it when i got it i thought a rod was going to hit the ground but that was 3 years ago the truck will smoke a lot really thick smoke drive it hard till it quits smoking it should take about 2 miles depends on how hard i drive it it worked for me i hope it works for you

I had the same problem and changed the valve cover gaskets that were leaking. Now my oil gets to the lifters properly.

The valve clicking sound in the 3.2 liter engine is a common occurance in most of the Isuzu Rodeo Engines. Some owners have spent money on expensive repairs to try and fix the noise, and some say that certain oils will make them quieter. Others have as many as 2 to 300,000 miles on these engines without a problem other than the clicking noise. Drive on.

Loud clacking noise from the engine after servicing the engine

That sounds like a stuck lifter, have it inspected ASAP. Also verify there is enough oil in the engine.

3.8 dodge runs great but has a very loud ticking/tapping under valve cover gets louder when warmed up or more rpm

Not familiar with this specific engine, but I think you have adjustable rocker arms to adjust valve lash. May just need adjustment, but inspection will show if something is damaged.

Knocking noise dodge ram

Pull valve cover off and look for any bad lifters. Or could be piston rod. Sounds like sticky lifter. Not good.

Lose vales on a98 votec 350 chev.

Determining what caused sudden slack in valves would be of concern to me, as in perhaps, changed oil brand, grade or filter incorrect?
Most small block chevy's have adjustable rocker arms. Is that not the case with yours?

All lifters started clicking at once

Sounds more likely to be a timing rattle rather then all the lifters at once making noise, if your EGR valve is bad this will happen and if the timing is off it will also do this, I can't buy the theory all 16 hydraulic lifters are noisey unless you over reved it something fierce, or ran it out of oil, or had someone loosen all the rockers.

Oil light and check engine light on. loud clacking noise top side of engines. a lot louder than basic lifter noise. goes away when rev engine up and build oil pressure up

Certainly have the a scan of your computer done to find the fault codes for the check engine light. This will help you proceed.

As far as the oil light, Usually indicates low oil. make sure your oil level is correct.
