Electric retractable seat belt problem

I have a great running 1988 Toyota Camry. Only problem now is the both the driver and passenger seat belts will not move. You can slide under the shoulder seat belt and then latch the lap belt on the driver's side. But the shoulder doesn't seem tight enought. One the passenger side, even though the shoulder belt doesn't move either, it does fit snug. But the lap be latch {the part you put the hook into} broke off. I think i've found were you can by the belts online, but can I convert these seat belt from electric to manual ones. Or is it best to fix what I have?

If you can't get it to retract then you will need to replace the seat belt assembly.

99 Toyota Camry one of the rear seat belts won't retract

You have to actually unbolt the belt holder behind the seat. Then from there you can check to see if the spring still works. You'll probably have to take the cap off it, wind the spring-load, then put the cap back on. If you can get to it, it's not too difficult. I recommend another pair of hands to help hold if they're available. You'll also want to make sure you've rolled the belt up as much as possible before before you coil the spring-load.

Retractable seat belt wont close

Is this a NEW seat belt?  Or a junkyard part... Per the Toyota 1988 Repair Manual - the belt is allowed to be pulled out at a tile of 15 degrees or less; and cannot be pulled out at over 45 degrees of tilt.

Your problem is the belt is not retracting.  The manual states to replace the assembly.  It also states: "Whenver installing a new belt assembly, verify proper operation before installation."

If a new part does not have proper operation; have it replaced. If this is a 'used'  new part - get a NEW seat belt.

2002 Toyota Solara Convertible seat belts not retracting

The front seatblet retractor springs have weakened. Unfortunatly, there are no "user serviceable parts" on them. They would have to be replaced. How many miles is on it? If you have low mileage, the Toyota Customer Experience Center may provide you some assistance, as the belt replacements are quite expensive. I'd call the CEC and explain your dilemma.
