Sounds like you aint getting any fuel,, or the coils may not be pushing,, I'll list the steps for the two checks..

now before i start,, let me just say that i live in the caribbean and the way we do things here is a bit different to how u might be used too, so use all necessary precautions..

To check coils::

  • ok locate spark plugs
  • remove one
  • stick a screw driver in it,, HOLD THE INSULATED PART OF THE PLUG AND SCREW DRIVER (getting shocked wont kill you but it will hurt very much)
  • hold it close o the engine and have someone tumble you should see sparks jumping from the screw driver to the engine,, Coils are fine,, if not well you need to replace it,,
  • locate fuel filter
  • remove hose leading into filter
  • place it in a glass or plastic bottle,,
  • have someone attempt to start,, fuel should be pumping out into the bottle at a good pressure ,, if not your pumps bad.. Check fuse first ,, under the fuse box under the hood or in the kick panel under the dash,, also check pump relay in the fuse box under the hood.

If your pumps bad,, the fuel pump is on the gas tank,, remove the back seat,, under it is an axcess hatch, remove it,, unbolt pump,, replace and reassemble..

  • The EEC supplies power to the injectors. So you want to check the EEC relay and see if it is bad. This relay is brown and on the left side of the engine bay. The yellow wire and the red and green wire should have power to them. It's either the relay or a broken power feed wire in the harness. The red wire is the key wire to test for 12 volts with the key on.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Check to make sure it's getting fuel at the engine. And also check for spark. Also make sure battery cables are clean and tight. And don't overlook the bottom ends, they're exposed to grease, grime etc... and EVERYONE overlooks those,

My 1998 Ford Crown Victoria was running just fine when parked Thursday evening. Friday morning, the air condiioner compressor will not come on. The fan runs--everything else runs fine.

Hopfully it's a fuse, if not a fuse then check relay, if not the relay, then check the clutch on the coompressor, while the motor is off, check to see if the AC compressor clutch will turn freely, if not, replace the compressor.

Oil pump

If the oil pump fails and the engine continues to run then there will be catastrophic engine damage and then the engine will seize.(this would be accompanied by loud knocking noises and possibly smoke and in some cases fire in the engine compartment) If this has happened to your engine then yes it can cause the engine not to turn over. but if you parked the vehicle and every thing was fine. then you came to start it later and it wouldn't start then no the oil pump will have nothing to do with this no start issue.
Hope this Helps!
