Down where the engine attaches to the transmission underneath the car, you will see the starter. It will have a large red wire, and two smaller wires going to it. It will have two bolts that hold it on. I believe the bolts are 15mm. Remove the two bolts and the wires.

I have a 2004 honda accord last night i drve it with no problems out of no where today it wont start i have lights radio but it will not turn over we tried boosting with a car and a booster

If it won't start with booster cables, but the radio and lights work, that's not good.
Try putting it in neutral instead of park.
It could be the ignition switch, the starter relay, the starter, etc.
The etc is the problem. It takes a mechanic to figure it out if it's not just a moody ignition switch.

My 2008 mazda 6 intermittenly won't crank, power window work and radio works, after it sits awhile it starts...is there any type of diagnostic to perform on this type of issue

first thing to do is get the car not to crank and check for power to the starter. if the starter has battery power and signal from the ignition switch then the problem is the starter. second thing is to check the plug at the trans range switch. the connector may be loose since you just had the trans repaired. ground may be an issue but not likely since the dash lights and other things work. GOOD LUCK.

2002 Tbird will not start

Try the connections on the starter. Probably corroded from sitting. Has happened to me many times. Take the large wire off, wirebrush the terminal & the cable eye.

Hyundai accent 2001 will not start all lights work radio works heater fan works battery in 3 months old when I turn the key all i hear is a humming sound for about 1 min. than nothing. weather has be

The humming would be the fuel pump coming on. It should only hum for a few seconds, then shut off.
Your problem is with the start circuit from the battery to the starter, or from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Check the connections at the starter (the big cable) for tightness.
Is the battery charged up enough to turn the engine over? Check by turning headlights on and observe while someone turns key to crank. If they dim a LOT, then either battery is too low, or the starter is bad and needs removing for testing. If brightness doesn't change, then the circuit from ignition switch to starter solenoid is likely not working. Check for 12 volts at the small wire to starter solenoid with key in cranking position. If you have power there, the solenoid may be bad. Remove starter for testing. If no power at solenoid in starting position, then either the ignition switch is bad or the neutral safety switch might be the problem, or the wiring from the switch to the starter solenoid is not passing current.
Good luck.

Car was running fine. Came home for an hour with car in garage. Needed to run a quick errand and when I turn the key I just here a loud click.... the lights and radio work fine, so I dont think its...

sounds like it could be the starter solenoid. and keep in mind that just because the radio and lights work does not mean that there is enough amp/volts to engage the starter. try and jump start the car, if this works then you are in fact lacking battery power and it is time to get a new battery ( most car batteries don't last longer than 5 years -- so if you know how old the battery is you can figure it might be time or not ).

I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla that won't start

Radio and lights can work with weak battery, too weak to turn starter.

Noise when shutting off maybe dieseling due to fuel mixture too rich or timing off.

When you say car won't start do you mean starter turns but engine does not start, or do you mean starter does not turn.

Sometimes car won't start

It sounds like your mechanic is right, to me it sounds like its just a dirty old starter having trouble making contact and turning... thats all. Once you replace it with a new starter that has a clean armature and new solenoid, it should start like clockwork!

remove the key from the ignition get a 21 mm socket and wrench and try to turn the crankshaft clockwise to see if it moves if it moves try to push start the car push the car to about 1 to 2 miles an hour with the key in the on position all dash lights on eg. check engine, air bag, etc. put in second gear and drop the clutch if it starts it's likly you have a bad starter
